"A Peaceful Protest For Our Loyal Street Companions!"

"A Peaceful Protest For Our Loyal Street Companions!"
The Issue
I wish to express my deep concern regarding the recent order passed by the Supreme Court on 7th November, 2025. I understand that public welfare is a priority, but I humbly wish to highlight the plight of our poor stray animals. I am not against the sterilization campaigns or shelter initiatives introduced by the Government — they are essential steps for welfare — but as a cynophile, it is truly difficult for me to imagine our streets without these loyal companions.
It is important to note that stray dogs are not merely “homeless animals on the street,” but community animals, protected under the Animal Birth Control Rules, 2023. They may be homeless, but they are not worthless. Moreover, past sterilization and vaccination campaigns have faced serious gaps in execution and monitoring, which need more attention and care.
Apart from this, I would like to share a few heartfelt thoughts that arise whenever I see my street companions:
· Stray dogs and cattle may be homeless, but that does not mean they are worthless.
· Life is unpredictable — someday, we could be in their place. Just imagining that brings fear; how must they feel every day?
· It is their natural right to exist and share public spaces, which nature has given them as a birthright.
· One infected or aggressive animal does not make the entire community guilty — just as in a family; one wrongdoer does not make everyone a criminal.
· The tiny eyes of these poor beings hold great fear, yet a single meal or kind gesture brings them joy — a joy they may never feel again if confined in shelters.
I am not here to raise a protest, but to make a humble request: please let them remain free and safe. Their absence would leave an emotional emptiness that cannot be filled. This issue is not only about safety but about shared humanity and moral responsibility — something that truly reflects the values of a compassionate society.
I sincerely hope you will consider this appeal and guide authorities to ensure that our stray friends can live peacefully and safely among us.
"Let join hands together to help our best buddies. Sign this petition to safeguard them and become the voice of their silence!"
