Regardless of where you live, understanding value and worth is an important facet of life. However, often we must jump through hoops to do this when speaking with people across borders, and sometimes within them as well, due to international currencies like the Euro.

Denmark was smart enough to not adopt the Euro, but unfortunately typing its own currency symbol requires two keystrokes (kr) or three (DKK)! This takes twice as long as other currencies such as the Euro (€), the dollar ($), the pound sterling (£), the yen and yuan (¥), the rupee (₹), the ruble (₽), the won (₩), etc. I find this unacceptable, and so in order to solve two problems with one stone (or character), I propose a new global currency, founded in Denmark, called kurrency (or KR, for short). My proposed symbol for kurrency is depicted above as a K unified with an R, signifying the unification of all currencies, and when the currency is adopted, the symbol can be added to the UTF-8 character set ensuring it is only one keystroke away.

Imagine a future where the world has a completely unambiguous understanding of monetary value. Imagine a world where Danish citizens press one character to denote currency. Imagine a world with one unified currency. Imagine a world united by kurrency. Let's step into that world and live, together.
