A New Declaration of Independence
The Issue
Both leaders, organizations and people are invited to sign and adopt this Declaration.
Our revolutionary leader Thomas Jefferson was the primary author of the original “Declaration of Independence” that declared the independence of the American colonies from the King of England on July 4, 1776.
This “New Declaration of Independence” declares the independence of the American people from a person who, though elected as President, now considers himself King.
We the people of the United States of America, on the 250th Anniversary of the original Declaration of Independence do hereby publish such a “New Declaration of Independence” to be declared and presented to national leaders and organizations on July 4, 2026. All organizers of events will be encouraged to read this Declaration at their events and post it on their websites and social media. All newspapers and TV networks will be encouraged to read and cover this in the coverage of the news.
THE NEW DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
"When in the course of human events, a nation suffers grievous harm by its rulers, it is the of right of “The People” to resume their role as sovereign. We hereby publish our “New Declaration of Independence,” not from a foreign king or to secede from the union, but to reclaim our rights from the current leader as enshrined in the US Constitution. Our intent is that our Republic will be governed by “We the People” for the benefit not of the few but for all.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. To secure these rights, Governments are instituted among the people, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. Whenever a government becomes destructive of these ends, it is our right to demand that neither our constitution nor the Rule of Law continue to be violated.
When a long series of abuses and usurpations creates clear evidence of a dictatorial design to reduce or eliminate these rights, it is the right and duty of the people to demand a change of leadership to re-establish them.
The history of the current leader of the United States is one of repeated injuries to the rule of law and usurpations of basic human rights for the purpose of enriching the wealthy and moving us in the direction of tyranny.
To clearly justify this precedent, let these facts be noted.
Our current leader has violated the US Constitution by overstepping the right of Congress to appropriate funds intended to be spent according to their authorization. This mandate must be restored.
The Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Department of Homeland Security have unleashed a tyrannical Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Customs and Border Protection (CBP), against non-criminal undocumented immigrants and political opponents, andeven against US citizens, some who have even been killed. This violent tyranny must end.
Our leader has created unsafe conditions for our nation by pardoning violent and convicted criminals and drug traffickers.
Our leader has used the US Military and National Guard against our people in violation of the USConstitution, which mandates it should only be used to defend against foreign enemies. He has used the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) organization to illegally detain residents and even terrorize and kill citizens.
He has misused the US military to commit armed actions against other nations, including killing people in boats without due process. He has captured and imprisoned a foreign leader without the approval of Congress which is a clear violation of international law. He has engaged in a war on Iran without the approval of Congress, wasting billions of dollars and damaging our standing in the region, increasing oil prices and damaging the world economy.
He has damaged our security, trade and social relationships with our friends and allies of Western Europe, Canada, Mexico and Asia, and has weakened our common defense.
He has imposed punitive tariffs without the approval of Congress. This is actually a form of taxation that has damaged business conditions and caused economic harm. He has used tariffs to as punishment not related to our economic interests. He has damaged our economic and trade relations with other nations, and even with our allies.
He has fired federal workers needed to serve our needs in many government agencies that were created by Congress to serve the needs of Americans and protect our foreign interests. He has fired members of DOJ and the FBI who investigated his felonies, including his 34-count conviction in New York and his cases relating to the January 6 attack on the Capitol, and regarding the unwarranted carrying away of documents including classified documents to Florida.
He was investigated for encouraging foreign interference, mainly by Russia, in his first election by the Department of Justice and the US Senate.
His first impeachment trial was held because he illegally withheld payments that had been approved by Congress to a foreign government to create false information about a political opponent.
His second impeachment trial was because of encouraging a mob to attack the Capitol to overturn the results of an election that he had clearly lost. He pardoned many of the attackers who had been convicted in courts of law.
He has given big tax cuts to the wealthiest while harming our healthcare and food security benefits. The Federal Deficit will increase because of these tax cuts.
He fired top leaders of our US military, many of whom were African American and women. He uses speeches to our military personnel to express personal grievances. He has attempted to politicize the military with damaging effects.
He has caused harm to both our individual and planetary health by adopting unscientific positions that worsen environmental conditions, while diminishing our respect among the nations of the world.
He has withdrawn from the Paris Agreement thus damaging the attempts at global climate change solutions and emphasizing an economy based on fossil fuels and outdated technologies, rather than a forward looking competitive green economy.
He has withdrawn from the World Health Organization thus damaging efforts to maintain and support global efforts to deal with pandemics like Covid-19 or global health dangers like Ebola.
He has violated our First Amendment Rights by attacking the media and has violated Freedom of the Press required for the functioning of a healthy Democracy.
Therefore, we the People of the United States of America demand that this President be impeached and removed from office for his numerous high crimes and misdemeanors. We also demand that the federal government end the above-mentioned actions that damage our country, its inhabitants, and many foreign nations as well.
In the support of this Declaration, we, the citizens of the United States of America, with a firm commitment to highest moral force that guides us, pledge to each other our renewed commitment to the Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness for us all."
