A Letter to the Christians in Gaza

From your brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ across the nations.

We, followers of Jesus, write to you our beloved family in Gaza with hearts full of sorrow, love, and unwavering hope. Though many of us have never seen your faces, we are one body with you, for we all share in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ.

We have seen your endurance in the face of great suffering. We have not turned away from your pain. We have seen the devastation, the loss of life, the cries of children, the destruction of homes and churches. We grieve with you the merciless killing of your loved ones—men, women, and children—some bombed in churches, others sniped on church grounds as they sought shelter and refuge. Others passed quietly, unseen by the world, because they could not access medical care or food. Their lives are precious to God. The world may forget them, but Jesus never will.

The world may forget their names. God will not.
The world may look away. But Christ is with you still.

As it is written, “If one member suffers, all suffer together” (1 Corinthians 12:26). Know, then, that your anguish is felt by your brothers and sisters in every land. You are not alone. You are not forsaken.

We know that the One who walked the dusty roads of your land has not left you.

Jesus who was born in Bethlehem, who fled to Egypt through Gaza, who wept over Jerusalem, who suffered under violence and injustice, walks now through the ruins with you. He sits beside you in your shelters. He holds your tears in His nail-scarred hands.

You are sharing in the fellowship of His sufferings. And you will share also in the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10–11).

Therefore, we urge you, as the Scriptures say: “Be steadfast. Be immovable. Abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Though the night is long and dark, the dawn is coming.

Though your homes are reduced to rubble, your faith is a house built upon the Rock.

Though injustice and war rage around you, the Prince of Peace has not forgotten His people.

We write not with platitudes, but with tears. And we stand ready not only to pray but to act raising our voices and opening our hands so that your needs may be met, your families sustained, and your gospel witness strengthened.

May you be filled with the peace that surpasses understanding.
May your hearts be guarded by the love of Christ Jesus.
And may the Spirit of God lift your eyes to the One who says:
“Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5).

Until that day, we remain your family, united in Christ, upholding you in love, and pressing on together toward hope.

In the grace of our Lord Jesus,

Your brothers and sisters in the global Church
