Robert J. Ruark has spent nearly two decades behind bars for an act of self-defense. 

On that fateful night in 2008, he protected his family from violent trespassers, yet he was denied a fair trial. His attorney—later permanently disbarred—failed him, leaving him to face an extreme sentence without providing any defense.

Now, a polygraph test supports his truth, witness testimonies confirm self-defense, and even legal professionals back his clemency. The system got it wrong. Robert is not a danger to society—he is a father, son, and mentor who has spent his incarceration educating himself and bettering those around him.
