We, the undersigned residents of the Hexham parliamentary constituency, call upon our Member of Parliament, Joe Morris, to urge the UK Government to uphold its obligations under international law and to take immediate steps to ensure that the United Kingdom’s foreign policy towards Israel and Palestine reflects these responsibilities by:

1.      Ceasing all military, intelligence, and logistical support to Israel;

2.      Affirming the United Kingdom’s commitment to international justice by ensuring that individuals indicted for war crimes are arrested and prosecuted within UK jurisdiction in accordance with the rule of law;

3.      Suspending all trade, economic cooperation and other bilateral arrangements with Israel until it has complied fully with the ruling of the International Court of Justice of 19 July 2024, including:

• Ending its illegal occupation of Palestine,
• Dismantling all settlements established in contravention of international law,
• Providing reparations to affected victims, and
• Facilitating the safe and voluntary return of displaced persons.

In addition, we call on him to support wider initiatives by public bodies to boycott educational, sporting, and cultural contact with Israel. 

By adopting these measures, the United Kingdom will demonstrate its commitment to peace, justice, and rules-based international order.
