A Call for Peace: Urging Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Address the Ukraine Crisis

A Call for Peace: Urging Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Address the Ukraine Crisis
The Issue
Letter to the Ecumenical Patriarchate
To His All-Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew,
Your All-Holiness,
This letter is written to you with an urgent plea regarding the moral and spiritual crisis within the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC). As you know, Patriarch Kirill and the Moscow Patriarchate have aligned themselves with the Russian state in supporting the unjust war against Ukraine. This has not only violated the core teachings of Christian faith but has also turned the Church into a political tool for war, repression, and imperial ambition.
It must be asked that the Ecumenical Patriarchate take the following actions:
Issue a formal condemnation of Patriarch Kirill’s support for the war.
Consider his excommunication for violating the fundamental principles of Orthodoxy.
Strengthen recognition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine as an independent body.
Encourage Orthodox leaders worldwide to reject Moscow’s influence in global Orthodoxy.
The Orthodox world looks to Constantinople as the spiritual guide of faith. Your leadership in this moment determines whether the Church remains a voice of peace or continues to be used as a tool of war.
