We, the undersigned members of the Highlands Soccer Association (HSA), are calling for a change in the current leadership of the HSA and Highlands Football Club (HFC), together with meaningful governance reform.

There has been a significant loss of trust and confidence in the current leadership. Concerns have arisen across multiple clubs, teams, competitions and age groups regarding decision-making, complaint handling, communication, consultation and competition administration.

This is not about one individual, team, club or dispute. The number and range of concerns being raised point to a broader problem with the way HSA is currently being governed.

What We Are Asking For
We are asking HSA's member clubs to recognise this loss of confidence and support leadership change ahead of the 2027 season.

We want new leadership committed to:

• Broader representation and consultation – leadership that fairly represents the interests of all HSA member clubs, ensuring no single club or group has disproportionate influence over the Association.
• Transparent and accountable decision-making – significant decisions made collectively through the appropriate Board processes, with clear authority, proper documentation and accountability.
• Proper management of conflicts of interest – particularly given the close relationship between HSA and HFC, ensuring decisions and disputes are handled fairly and independently.
• Fair complaint handling – concerns investigated objectively, with an opportunity to respond to disputed information and an appropriate avenue for review.
• Clear and consistent rules – rules and procedures that are accessible, applied fairly and changed with reasonable notice and consultation.
• A practical approach to community football – prioritising safety, fairness and getting players on the field without placing unnecessary administrative burdens on clubs and volunteers.
• Better communication and competition administration – including timely draws, reasonable notice of significant changes and consideration of their impact on teams and families.

Why Change Is Needed
Players, coaches, volunteers and families have already left or are reconsidering their involvement with HSA because they have lost confidence in the current environment.

Community football relies on people wanting to participate and volunteer. We need leadership that listens, works collaboratively, follows appropriate processes and is accountable to the community it serves.

Our Collective Position
By signing this petition, we are expressing that we have lost confidence in the current leadership of Highlands Soccer Association and believe leadership change is necessary.

We are asking HSA's member clubs to listen to the people they represent and support new leadership committed to rebuilding trust through fair, transparent and accountable governance.

We want a football community where players are prioritised, volunteers are supported, clubs are heard and people want to stay, contribute and participate.

We believe meaningful change is necessary for the future of football in the Highlands.
