A Call for Fair Taxation and Relief for Proper. End the Inordinate Property Tax Burden Now

The Issue

Subject: A Call for Fair Taxation and Relief for Property Owners

As landlords, we are facing an unprecedented crisis. The soaring costs of property insurance have become unsustainable, often yielding little to no return when claims are denied—turning what should be protective coverage into a financial drain. At the same time, property taxes are escalating at an alarming rate, placing a crushing burden on property owners and tenants alike. It's as if there's no ceiling to this increase—our leaders appear to be making fiscal decisions without regard for long-term consequences, leaving the housing sector gasping for air.

The current structure of property taxation has its origins in World War II, introduced as a temporary measure to help fund the war effort. Yet decades later, long after the war ended, this tax remains not only in place but has grown exponentially. What was once a practical tool has now become a mechanism that erodes the savings of hardworking Americans. Homeowners who paid off their properties decades ago are now paying annual taxes as though they are repurchasing their homes every year.

This is not sustainable. We are raising our voices to demand relief from this relentless tax burden. The time has come to reassess and reform this outdated model. Repealing or restructuring this long-standing tax policy is not only justified—it is essential to ensure the survival of landlords, the stability of the housing market, and the affordability of homes for future generations.

We urge policymakers at all levels to take immediate action. Rethink the property tax system, restore balance, and support sustainable homeownership and investment. Stand with us by signing our petition in support of fair taxation and a future where housing is not a privilege, but a right.
