Good morning or afternoon, My name is Dennis Sam, I am a local community in Philadelphia. I been talking with the community located on 7th W Shunk St to 7th and Snyder Ave. The community and business owner are asking everyone to help put a petition to the City of Philadelphia to get involved with the crime rate and also to get 7th Street to turn into Cambodia town or Khmer town. Now, the main problems is that people in the area do not feel safe walking in the neighborhood due to shooting and drug trafficking. Small business owner are asking for help, to get camera installed for their business, also they are try to get the City Police Department to help installed more camera around the neighborhood. Business in that area has drop over the years due to crime rate in shooting. So we as a community, are asking everyone from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to sign this petition. To let the city know that, they need help with this problem. One step at a time. If everyone in the community gave their voice out with a signatures, we can make this happen. From 6th to 7th street to Cambodian town or khmer town and also more city cameras in the neighborhood, for business that needs it. It doesn't matter if your chinese, korean, vietnamese, or Indonesian to other ethnic group. We are trying to get everyone in the area of Pennsylvania or outside of Pennsylvania who has visit the local businesses in Philadelphia to let the City of Philadelphia know that we support each other in every way as possible and getting their voice heard, asking for Cambodia town to happen and city support. As a Cambodian/ American, I can see how hard my parents work to raise us from nothing until now. They been thru hard time from them living through Pol Pot known as Khmer Rouge to living in America with nothing to start off with. They always taken us to 7th street to eat khmer food and buy grocery. We all hoping to get the world to realize that khmer been in America for a long time. The neighborhood knows that we been pushing for Cambodia town to happen. Business owner in the area wants everyone to know that they are hurting and need assistant from City of Philadelphia with the issue, that they are having right now in the area. We as a community have to stand up together as one and let the Mayor, commissioner, and city council, know that we need this to happen. We exist on 7th street to 6th, there are problem that we can't do alone without the city helping us to stop the issue. So please reach into your heart and help this community, let the city know that we are here. We are trying to stay, we are fighting to live day by day, and we want the world to know that we exist. We have a voice and now we are putting it out there to the world. Thank you, I'm sorry if I miss anything.
