61 SEK IS NOT ENOUGH!

61 SEK IS NOT ENOUGH!
Why this petition matters

Millions of Ukrainians were forced to flee the war, and some of them came to Sweden. But is Sweden doing everything it can?
61 SEK is a daily allowance for refugees in Sweden.
61 SEK is what 38 000 Ukrainian refugees are forced to live on.
61 SEK is all you have to pay for food, clothing, shoes, healthcare, medicine, and hygiene.
61 SEK means that you need to choose if you want to eat OR to brush your teeth today.
61 SEK is the money you have to wait for 2 months, living on disappearing savings and volunteer support.
61 SEK is the cost our society is ready to pay for safety and integration of people fleeing war.
61 SEK is enough says Anders Ygeman, Minister for Integration and Migration.
WE SAY 61 SEK IS NOT ENOUGH!
61 SEK daily allowance was set up in 1994, and hasn't changed since.
2860 SEK is monthly budget for food per adult now (Konsumentverket, 2021).
4380 SEK per month if you want to buy clothing, shoes, hygiene and pay for mobile service.
Meaning 61 SEK daily (1800 monthly) is simply not enough even for food!
For the reference, in Germany since June 1 refugees from Ukraine are entitled to assistance in accordance with Social Code II (SGB II). That means adults are entitled to €449 (4700 SEK) a month.
If we want the refugees to enter the job market as soon as possible, and integrate into the society, we need to provide the minimal level of safety. The current allowance creates threats for discrimination, social exclusion and violence for the most vulnerable groups.
Advocate together with us for:
- Increase refugee daily allowance till 146 SEK
- Decrease the decision time on allowance payment by simplifying the procedure in Migrationsverket.
This petition will be sent to Anders Ygeman, Minister for Integration and Migration.
