Your voice is being heard. Can you please come to the steps of City Hall on Monday to reinforce this city-wide urgent call for safety and peace in our city? I’ll be there for New Orleans Safe petition signers … it would be an honor to gather with you …
Many of you contacted me directly about the organizing efforts by friends, family and co-workers of Kelley Rheim who was carjacked and dragged across the Costco parking lot sustaining dibilitating and life threatening injuries. Mrs. Rheim represents EVERY victim of crime and represents EVERY citizen attacked, killed, maimed and traumatized by crime no matter race , creed, skin color or social background. New Orleans should be, MUST be safe for everyone. All victims represent the REASON that New Orleans’ Mayor and City Council MUST act now.
Tomorrow at 2pm …. New Orleans Safe (that’s all 3800 voices for safety ) will join community leaders, small business owners, citizens and other stakeholders to respectfully request immediate action by the mayor and city council to curb violence and achieve peace for ALL citizens and ALL neighborhoods.
The attached information affirms not only our request for the Mayor and Governor to bring National Guard troops to New Orleans now to address the manpower crisis but affirms direct and substantial actions that constitute a tangible plan for safety and a peaceful city.
This plan created by citizens for citizen safety is actionable … you see since city leaders didn’t present a plan , everyday citizens created a plan. Now our presence on the steps of city hall shows that we mean business - the business of safety.
Your presence at Monday’s’ rally will be impactful. In plain and simple terms - New Orleans needs us to show up. If you can … see you on the steps of City Hall … I’ll be there speaking up for ALL Neighbors and ALL Neighborhoods.
New Orleans Safe for All … that goal is achievable … please be safe.
