But also the NOPD  made some key arrests … just think how much more NOPD could do if they had enough manpower … let’s get them backup so our neighbors and neighborhood can be safe again … 

Friday brings more shootings and it’s only noon … it’s time to stand up for OUR safety … your NOPD needs manpower to create a safe New Orleans … YOUR signature is your voice and your voice  has power . .. that power is to  help find a solution that supports a safer New Orleans for every neighborhood, every citizen and the folks who travel here to enjoy the unique culture of New Orleans herself  … you’ve joined this number but this movement needs your friends, family and neighbors to join up by signing on …  

Carjackings, shootings, property crimes have no end in sight and  without a properly staffed public safety arm fear will be the new norm. Should you accept this continued dwindling of human capital? No way. You’ve signed up to be part of the solution … providing manpower and backup for our NOPD is this mission  … so in turn the men and women of NOPD can solve crimes, hit the streets and HIRE and TRAIN more police … the staffing numbers we are supposed to have mandates a force of 1600 officers … but  RiGHT NOW  maybe 900 are available to patrol with about 1100 total staff. More are retiring or quitting everyday. New Orleanians are loosing the critical manpower to help us be safe … it’s a crisis. 

Is this what neighbors agreed to? It is most certainly not. If each of you ask just 10 close friends and family to sign this petition our numbers grow - and we can become part of a supporting group engaging OUR Mayor and OUR police chief and supporting them to bring our police force to the appropriate man power … in turn community policing, programs for our youth and more can in turn become part of the number of solutions New Orleans and her citizens deserve. A culture of safety - Don’t you want to be in that number?
