On August 25th 2015 Assistant District Attorney Jason Ferguson offered a plea deal to a man (Thomas Boden) who was charged with aggravated sexual assault on a two year old child. The man had previously been drinking and fighting with the mother of the child. When she arrived home she found her daughter's diaper full of blood and more bloody wipes and a diaper in the trash. She then took her daughter to a doctor, who confirmed that she was sexually assaulted. Thomas Boden was given a plea bargain that sentenced him to 10 years probation. No jail time and he will not be a registered sex offender. Mr. Ferguson's defense of his decision was that it would be too hard for the child to testify in court. While this would not be easy, they did have substantial evidence that the defendant was guilty. I call for Assistant District Attorney Jason Ferguson's resignation to send a message that we do NOT tolerate child molesters getting let go with a slap on the wrist for mentally scarring a toddler for the rest of their life.
