There are a large number of condos and houses in Fourth Ward-many who are dog owners, and who walk their dog in the Fourth Ward area, especially in Fourth Ward Park and the Settler's Cemetery.  We would like an off-leash dog area/park for the dogs to play and dog owners to gather.

These are responsible owners with active, socialized dogs who want a place for their dogs to play off-leash. 

We want to establish a fenced in, off-leash dog park where well behaved Fourth Ward and Uptown citizens can exercise their dogs without endangering or annoying people, property or wildlife. This well-maintained, shaded area will be open to all dog lovers and friends who are willing to uphold the park's rules and regulations. We view this as a Fourth Ward Community Project, in partnership with the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, designed to satisfy the needs of dog- owners and non-dog owners alike. 

We are looking at the grassy area in Settler's Cemetery (next to the 3 sets of condominiums or by Church St.) or a grassy, shaded area in Fourth Ward Park.
