2016: New Yu-Gi-Oh film uncut and unchanged in cinemas worldwide!

The Issue

In 2016 it will be 20 years since Yu-Gi-Oh! began its worldwide success story. Without any doubt 4kids, now 4k media Inc., has helped this success along. But 20 years also mean that the fans have grown up. The new film, coming to cinemas in the anniversary year of 2016, will also be testament to this.

According to Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi the film will be a sequel to the original manga. The manga is darker and targets an older audience, even compared to the Japanese version of the anime. The usual “4kids’ treatment” would sentence the film to death. It wouldn’t be a happy celebration for the fans but a funeral service.

So we, the signers of this petition, ask 4k media Inc. to enable a worldwide translation of “Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions”, that is worthy of the film and pays respect to Kazuki Takahashi.

Times were fans worldwide (!) had to be satisfied with a cut, distorted, censored and Americanized anime have to end!

We wish:

  • The story should be left alone, no changes, omissions or additions
  • No censored pictures
  • No cuts
  • No exchange of any music
  • No censoring or changing of cards or monsters
  • No censored dialogue (i.e. replacing “die” with “disappear”)
  • No attempt to transform Japan into the USA or any other western country (i.e. retouching Japanese characters like kanji)
  • Preferred is the use of the Japanese names instead of the Americanized 4kids-names (i.e. Jonouchi instead of Joey, Anzu instead of Teà)
  • License takers get the Japanese original film as a source without specifically requesting it

Simply summarized: Please translate the film truthfully to the respective languages!

Please support us with your vote! The more we are the bigger our prospects for success.
