There is a lack of strong woman role models for women in the world. As a union carpenter we use patterned duct tape to identify our tools on job sites. I was excited when some of the guys told me to go get Wonder Woman duct tape, as they had Batman and Superman- we could be Justice League. Imagine my disappointment when it turned out that 3M Scotch doesn't even make Wonder Woman tape. I was both surprised and not surprised. Most manufacturers don't understand that there is a desire for products depicting strong women that can take the world on their own, both for the women that are already doing that, and the girls that are following behind. It seems like a small deal, Wonder Woman being added in with the other Justice League characters, but it's not. Not as long as I'm being told I'm "fearless" and "brave" for doing jobs that men do everyday without anyone batting an eye.
