24/7 365 Local Police Station In CAROLINE SPRINGS! WE DEMAND IT!

The issue

We, the residents of Caroline Springs and surrounding areas, are calling upon the Chief Police Commissioner of Victoria to take urgent action and convert the Caroline Springs police station into a fully operational, 24/7 facility.

For far too long, criminals have exploited the gaps in our local policing. They see our suburb as an easy target because they know there is no consistent police presence here. The occasional patrols through our surrounding areas do NOT substitute for a dedicated and ever-present police force in Caroline Springs. This lack of local policing has left our community vulnerable to escalating crime, including robberies, hijackings, and physical assaults. Enough is enough, we are fed up, and we will no longer tolerate this negligence.

Why This Matters:

  1. Preventative Action Against Crime:
A 24/7 police presence is proven to act as a powerful deterrent to criminal behavior, particularly youth crime. Leaving Caroline Springs without round-the-clock protection sends the wrong message, it emboldens criminals and leaves our residents feeling unsafe in their own homes.
  2. The Safety and Security of Our Residents:
As hardworking members of this community, we pay our rates and contribute to local development. Yet, our most basic right, to feel safe in our own neighborhood, is being disregarded. It's time for the government to listen to us and provide the resources we deserve.
  3. The Future of Caroline Springs Is at Risk:
If this issue remains unaddressed, the consequences will be severe. Youth crime will continue to rise, further endangering our families and threatening the peace of our beautiful, leafy suburb. Property values will plummet, vacancy rates will soar, and negative media coverage will worsen the stigma surrounding our community. We cannot allow this downward spiral to take hold.
  4. Accountability Is Overdue:
Petitions for a 24/7 police station were submitted in 2013 and 2022, yet the situation remains unchanged. The increasing frequency of negative news coverage highlights the growing urgency of this issue. We demand accountability from our government ministers and police leadership, who will only act when their inaction starts to impact their own political and financial positions.
  5. This Is Not About Politics, It’s About Action:
By signing this petition, we are collectively making a statement: we will NOT vote for candidates in the 2026 elections who fail to make this promise to us. The Premier of Victoria, as an elected official, appoints the Minister of Police, who in turn delegates to the Chief Police Commissioner. If the Chief Police Commissioner refuses to act, we will escalate our demands to the Premier herself.
  6. Support Our Police, They Deserve Better:
This is not just about demanding more from the police, it’s about giving them the support they need to succeed. We demand proper staffing, fair pay, and adequate resources for our police force so they can operate comfortably and effectively in our suburb. The money is there, and it’s time to allocate it where it matters most, towards the safety and security of our community and the well-being of those who protect us.
  7. Slactivism Doesn’t Work, Action Does:
The powers that be don’t care about 1,000 digital signatures without any real call to action. Signing this petition means you are willing to ACT on your demand. That means REMOVING elected officials who won’t take action via our votes and DEMANDING the resignation of negligent commissioners and ministers.
  8. An Unacceptable Reality:
The fact that we can buy ice cream late into the night in our suburb, yet cannot access a police station in our time of need, is nothing short of an insult. Our safety and security must be prioritized over convenience.

The signatures of your friends on Facebook are not enough. Caroline Springs is home to over 20,000 residents, and we will only be heard when a significant number of us stand together and demand change. Leave your videos, show your support, and make your voice count.

We demand an immediate commitment to staffing the Caroline Springs police station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is not a luxury, it is a necessity for the safety, security, and future prosperity of our community.
The time to act is NOW. Delay is not an option.
