2026 Version of The Declaration of Independence
The Issue
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly, all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--Such has been the patient sufferance of these United States; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present US President, Donald J. Trump, is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these United States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
1. He has, through his direct agents, suborned state officials in the 2020 election to falsely substantiate his claims of election interference.
2. He has incited a mob of individuals to defy the 2020 Congress its lawful power to certify the 2020 election through acts of violence and resistance.
3. He has pardoned the 1,500 individuals who were lawfully investigated, charged, tried and convicted with criminal offenses related to the January 6, 2021, attack on Congress thereby issuing a defacto approval of their actions and his participation.
4. He has sent National Guard troops and threatened to use regular military troops to American cities without the States consent and without due cause to intimidate the people and leadership of those communities and states.
5. He has unleashed Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol agents in unruly mobs and gangs to harass, threaten, detain, deport, injure, and kill both immigrants and American citizens without due legal representation.
6. He has protected Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol agents from punishment for any violations, assaults, and murders which they should commit to the Inhabitants of these States.
7. He has transported alleged illegal immigrants beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences.
8. He has imposed taxes on the people of the United States of America through his usurpation of the ability to impose tariffs without the consent of Congress and thereby without the consent of the People.
9. He has cut off our Trade with many parts of the world through his usurpation of the ability to impose tariffs without the consent of Congress and thereby without the consent of the People.
10. He has threatened our Allies, without cause, with tariffs and use of force if they did not yield land within their delimited boundaries. And thereby threatened security agreements with those countries which threaten the safety of these United States
11. He has threatened judicial officials with impeachment or sanctions for decisions which he did not agree with.
12. He has weaponized branches of the US government, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigations, to harass, intimidate, and arrest organizations, institutions, journalists and individuals he deems objectionable.
13. He has ordered his subordinates to ignore fact-based science and medical principles and implement pseudoscientific practices and medical protocols.
14. He has encouraged and coerced Republican led state legislatures to redraw district representation maps to insure he will have compliant representatives in Congress; thereby limiting or eliminating the voice of the People of these United States.
In every stage of these oppressions, We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A President, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Republican Congressional brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Republican Congressional officials, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.
We, therefore, the People of the United States of America, declare that Donald J. Trump and the Republican Congressional officials, have violated their Constitutional oath of office and by doing so are operating outside of the scope of the contract with the American people defined in the preamble of the United States Constitution:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Because of this, those members of the United States Congress who are willing to preserve our democratic republic must take all measures to impeach and terminate the Presidency of Donald J. Trump.
