20 is Plenty in Chalford and Eastcombe

The Issue

Are you concerned about speeding vehicles locally? Would you like our roads to be safer for schoolchildren, pedestrians, cyclists and other drivers alike?

20 mph limits on roads where where people live, work, shop, play and learn

  • reduce accidents
  • reduce pollution
  • reduce CO2 emissions
  • make active travel (biking, walking) possible for more residents
  • make it safer for horse-riders
  • have little impact on journey times
  • are increasingly accepted in many areas (e.g. Wales, Scotland).

There are many myths about 20mph limits - check them out at https://www.20splenty.org/busting_the_20mph_limit_myths

Please sign this petition to promote safe driving in Chalford and Eastcombe through a default limit of 20mph wherever practical. Its organised by ChalCAN (Chalford Climate Action Network) with BisCAN. Gloucestershire County Council are considering whether a 20 mph should be considered across the county (as agreed in Cornwall and Oxfordshire), and will be taking feedback, so our views will count.

We’re collating residents’ views, so send your comments or suggestions to Penny info@chalcan.org.uk. Banners, stickers and posters are also available from the Parish Centre.
