We understand that 17 Ombersley Road is in the process of being sold to Wychavon Council with the intention of being converted into homeless accommodation for 18 to 25 year olds. We object to this over concerns of the impact on existing local residents, in particular noting that:

• there are already two similar homes in the close vicinity, which have caused problems for local residents in the past; and 
• in the past two other properties on Ombersley Road were used for a similar purpose, and the behaviour of the residents caused significant stress and disturbance to other local residents.

There are limited resources in this quiet area of Droitwich to accommodate the needs of 18 to 25 year olds making it an unsuitable location for such a development. Whilst we understand the councils current plan is to accommodate 18 to 25 year olds only, this could change in the future, with 17 Ombersely Road used to house even more unsuitable individuals.

We also note that the rumoured purchase price is £100,000 above the asking price and have concerns on why our local council would consider such a purchase to be good value for the residents they serve?

It is important that we raise awareness of this potentially impactful change to our community before the property is purchased and planning permission and building work commences  - WE MUST ACT NOW!!
