杉並区役所で12月9日（午前：10:00~12:30、午後：14:30~17:00）に、「杉並の緑をどう守る？どう創る？」の聴っくオフ・ミーティングが行われました。
参加された皆様の共通点としては、唯一、東京都内で植物の名前が付けられている杉並区の、自然豊かな環境を「好き」だと思われていることでした。

このミーティングでは、杉並の緑を守りたい思い、緑の必要性、緑被率、子供の遊び場（外で遊べる環境）、グリーンインフラ（そのベネフィットとして、生物多様性の向上、炭素隔離、水質改善、大気質改善、ヒートアイランド現象の軽減）などのディスカッションがありました。

東京都が計画している、善福寺川公園(東京都計画河川第8号善福寺川(善福寺川上流調節池(仮称))は緑を大事にしたいと思っている杉並住民、外で遊べる環境を保ちたいと思う住民の意向に反する内容になります。
これらの意見は、東京都に対して12月15日までに提出可能です。なお、12月13日までにGoogle Formsに入力すれば、私達が印刷や郵送を代行します。

A kick-off meeting & discussion on "how we protect and develop the greenery in Suginami" was held on December 9th (morning session: 10:00~12:30, afternoon session: 14:30~17:00) at Suginami Ward.
Suginami ward is the only ward in Tokyo named after a tree, which is indicative of how Suginami residents value nature and greenery.

In this meeting, topics such as: the need to protect Suginami's greenery, the importance greenery plays in our daily lives, the green coverage rate in Suginami compared to other wards, the necessity of having an outdoor space surrounded in greenery for children to play, and significance of green infrastructure (recreational benefits, enhancement of biodiversity, carbon sequestration, water quality improvement, air quality improvement, reduction of urban heat island effect), was discussed. 

Zenpukuji River Park (Tokyo Metropolitan Planned River No. 8 Zenpukuji River (Zenpukuji River Upstream Regulation (tentative name)), planned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, is contradictory to the wishes and thoughts of the residents of Suginami ward.
