The Australian Broadcasting Corporation just published a very informative article, written by Erin Handley, that highlights the injustice faced by Taiwanese Olympic athletes. The article references this petition. It also mentions that the IOC, Chinese Olympic Committee, and the Chinese embassy in Australia have been contacted for comment.

Taiwan News has reported that the Tokyo Olympics Twitter account is not posting flag emojis for Taiwan when its athletes win medals—a blatant act of discrimination. All other countries have their flags posted, except for Russia, which has been banned due to a cheating scandal. The comments section under the relevant tweets are raging, with Taiwan supporters retaliating by posting hundreds of Taiwanese flags. You can join the protest at the following links:

Yesterday, the China Times published an article claiming that the Tokyo Olympics organizers didn't actually let Taiwanese athletes enter the opening ceremony in alphabetical order according to the "ta" sound in Taiwan. The author claimed it was the "ta" sound in Taipei.

Makoto Iwata of the Taiwan Research Forum in Tokyo reached out to the Tokyo Olympics organizers and asked for clarification. The organizers responded immediately and confirmed that "ta" was taken from "Taiwan". Mr. Hideki Nagayama, the chairman of the Taiwan Research Forum, posted the letter on his Facebook page and demanded that the China Times retract its misleading article.

Mr. Nagayama also wrote an article calling on the Taiwanese people to not give up in their fight for justice. It was published in Taiwan People News today:
