Let Abacus Primary School use Hampstead Police Station as a home.

The Issue

Abacus Belsize Primary School will open in September 2013, but is still looking for a permanent home. Now that the Met Police have closed Hampstead Police Station, it has the potential to make a great site for this new school, but the police are racing ahead with a quick sale before the school option can even be explored. We call on the Mayor of London, as head of the Met Police, to delay the sale long enough for Abacus to develop a proposal, which could be in partnership with another venture.

The Decision Makers

Boris Johnson
Prime Minister
Responded
Dear Petitioner The sale of Hampstead Police Station is underway but no decisions have been taken. The Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime will take a decision on the sale of all police stations based on best consideration and a full understanding of the relevant factors of all bids received. Money raised from the sale of police stations will be invested in front-line policing. Yours sincerely, Public Liaison Unit Greater London Authority
