Help stop Child marriage/ girl child rape in Northern Nigeria

ProblemThere is a growing menace in the northern region of Nigeria which have Islam as their main religion- paedophiles are taking advantage of the Islamic system to abuse young girls and take childbrides whom they have no plans for in future but to abuse them sexually. SolutionThe child act rights has been passed in 2003 by the federal legislation but few states have passed a bill to set the age of marriage. We are advocating that states in Northern region and other parts of Nigeria should set a minimum age not below the age of 18 for marriage and set rules and regulations for such, this will help to incorporate the rights of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights into the national law, Personal story A new twist has emerged as regards the story of Alhaji Chanji and it is alleged that the girl in question is actually 20years old and a dowry of N300,000 was agreed on. This however is the lady’s third marriage. We do apologize for whatever damage our initial story may have caused any individual.  While the story may have been a catalyst to bring about the push for this cause, it is not what the cause is about. We implore everyone to please focus on putting pressure on the state governments to adopt the child right act passed in 2003 by the federal legislature.   INITIAL STORY The story of a 70 years old Yakubu Changi marrying a 15year old girl in Niger state of Nigeria is trending on the internet. According to stories we have heard, Alhaji Changi as Yakubu is usually called has a penchant for marrying young girls and divorcing them after having his way sexually with them. This is against child rights everywhere and we must act now to ensure there is a change. https://ng.networkofnews.com/feed-items/rich-70yrs-old-alhaji-marries-15-year-old-nigerian-girl-photos-olufamous-com/

-Dr. Jane Goodall www.janegoodall.de

PLEASE SIGN TO HELP STOP THE GENOCIDE OF A MINORITY NATION IN SOUTH AFRICA!

#ProjectSurvivorSouthAfrica As much as we would hate to admit it – THE STAGE IS BEING SET FOR TOTAL GENOCIDE OF ALL WHITE SOUTH AFRICANS! Constantly looking over your shoulder; Never leaving your kids alone, not even for a second; Praying and pleading every night that God will accept you in Heaven should you not see the light of day again; Kissing and hugging your innocent children each and every night with tears in your eyes as if it were the last you will ever see them alive/unhurt; Constantly be on high alert; Checking that all doors and windows are locked and closed each and every night  before you go to sleep – checking them TWICE to make sure; Going to sleep imagining the horrors that could very easily AND QUICKLY  become reality; ---- IS NO WAY ANYONE SHOULD LIVE THEIR LIVES---- .....AND THAT IS THE WAY WE, AS A MINORITY IN SOUTH AFRICA, HAS BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO – UNACCEPTABLE – PLEASE HELP BY SIGNING, SHARING AND SHARING AGAIN! We request the following: 1.    That the international community and world leaders step in immediately to curb the damage already done and to also stop further annihilation of a peace loving nation from the face of the earth. The United States of America, Canada, Europe and the United Nations has always been on the forefront of curbing Human Rights violations. Why look the other way when a Genocide is taking place that will ultimately end in a slaughter that will make Rwanda look like a picnic? If you do not, you will be complicit to Genocide. 2.      That President Donald Trump (USA), Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Canada), President Donald Tusk (President of the European Council), President Jean-Claude Juncker (President of the European Commission), President Antonio Tajani (President of the European Parliament); President Miroslav Lajčák of Slovakia (United Nations General Assembly President), immediately take the necessary steps to initiate an emergency evacuation and immigration plan to USA, Canada and Europe and allowing white Boers/Afrikaners/South Africans refugee status. If you cannot, please, please at least admit our wives and little children and spare them the ongoing horror of murder, rape and torture. 3.      That the United States of America stop funding our oppressors.  Last year the U.S. Agency for International Development subsidised the South African Government with more than 350 million USD in aid. Please do not make the same mistake again! Rather use the money to subsidise an emergency evacuation and immigration plan allowing white Boers/Afrikaners/South Africans to go to the United States, it will be money well spent! ALTERNATIVELY utilise the funds to implement security measures to protect the white minority from total annihilation. 4.      That World Leaders immediately condemn the South African Government’s plans to Expropriate property without compensation as well as their total silence (and denial) in regards to  the ongoing Farm Murders. 5.       That World Leaders immediately condemn any and all Hate Speech against the minority whites by Government Officials, Julius Malema (EFF) and Andile Mngxitama.  6.        That the United States immediately fulfil its responsibility to act in terms of S.1158 - Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act of 2018. "This bill states that it is U.S. policy to regard the prevention of genocide and other atrocity crimes as a core national security interest and a core moral responsibility." (PLEASE BE WARNED THAT SOME SCENES AND/OR GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS OF FARM KILLINGS , RAPE AND TORTURE IN SOME OF THE INFORMATION, LINKS AND VIDEO MATERIAL MAY UPSET SENSITIVE VIEWERS) -Not only because of government politicians and their followers screaming and singing “One settler one bullet” or “Kill the Boer, Kill the farmer” or “Bring me my machine gun” etc.etc.etc. (For our international visitors - the words Settler, Farmer and Boer refers to minority White Afrikaans speaking South Africans). U.S. assistance focuses on improving healthcare, increasing education standards and teacher training, building capacity in agriculture to address regional food security, developing clean energy, and adapting to changing weather patterns. Improving the capacity of South Africa's security force will enable it to take a lead role in regional stability and security efforts. https://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/2898.htm U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) programs seek to strengthen small- and medium-sized enterprises, create employment, improve learning and job skills, promote basic education, combat gender-based violence, and promote HIV/AIDS care, prevention, and treatment."  https://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/2898.htm Sirs, you are neglecting your promise to South Africa! The population count in South Africa, according to the 2011 Census was, 79.2% of South Africans (41 million) were 'Black Africans', 8.9% were Coloured (4.62 million), 8.9% were white (4.59 million), 2.5% were 'Indian or Asian' (1.29 million) and only 0.2% (280.4 thousand) who declared another race. The population count in South Africa, according to Statistics South Africa in 2016 was: 80.7% of South Africans (45.1 million) were 'Black Africans' , 8.8% were Coloured (4.89 million), 8.1% were white (4.51 million), 2.5% were 'Indian or Asian' (1.38 million). More than 45.10 million blacks vs. not more than 4.51 million whites. (LET THAT SINK IN FOR A WHILE BEFORE CONTINUING!) Afrikaans speaking White South Africans "The Boers" are very strong and brave and will most definitely try to defend themselves, their wives and their children to the best of their ability with the means to their disposal BUT with such overwhelming odds stacked against them, the annihilation of a minority nation from the face of the earth will go down in history as one of the biggest and saddest blunders of the modern world! We request the following: 1.    That the international community and world leaders step in immediately to curb the damage already done and to also stop further annihilation of a peace loving nation from the face of the earth. Petitioning U.S. Department of State, USAID

Ask: Department of State and USAID, release a congressional report on the Girls Count Act!

Dear Administrator Green and Secretary Pompeo,  Safe spaces are critical for girls to thrive. One of the first steps to ensuring girls have access to safe spaces is birth registration. Even though most countries do have birth registration laws, approximately 25 percent of children under five have never been officially registered, according to UNICEF. When a girl is denied a birth certificate, she is invisible to her government. A lack of documentation can prevent a girl from going to school, getting a job later in life, and accessing health and social services. A lack of formal education often relegates girls to work in the informal sector, which can be an unsafe environment both physically and psychologically. In June 2015, the Girls Count Act was approved unanimously by Congress and subsequently signed into law by former President Barack Obama. The bill authorizes the Department of State and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to coordinate their efforts with multilateral organizations, the private sector, and civil society organizations to support the counting of girls in developing countries. Documentation is required to obtain property rights, social security, home ownership, land tenure security, inheritance rights, access to education, and economic and entrepreneurial opportunities. Though this bill has been passed by Congress, we will not know the impact of the law until a report has been released by the Department of State or USAID. Section 5 of the Girls Count Act sets forth the following requirement: “The Secretary and the Administrator shall include in relevant evaluations and reports to Congress the following information:                         (1) To the extent practicable, a breakdown of United States foreign assistance beneficiaries by age, gender, marital status, location, and school enrollment status.                 (2) A description, as appropriate, of how United States foreign assistance benefits girls.         (3) Specific information, as appropriate, on programs that address the particular needs of girls.” If you agree that the Department of State and USAID should prioritize a report to Congress on the impact of foreign aid on women and girls, please sign this petition and share it with everyone you know. The longer this report is delayed, the longer women and girls will be unable to benefit from formal economic, legal, and political sectors in their countries--rights that originate with registration at birth.

We utterly condemn the attacks against Francia Márquez and other Afro-Colombian leaders   Press release   We, the undersigned, categorically reject the attack against the leaders of “Proceso de Comunidades Negras” (PCN - Process of Black Communities) and the “Asociación de Consejos Comunitarios Negros del Norte del Cauca” (ACONC - Association of Black Community Councils of Northern Cauca) on Saturday May 4th in the village of Lomitas, Santander de Quilichao. Since its creation in 1993, the Process of Black Communities (PCN) has been playing an outstanding role both nationally and internationally for its brilliant, committed, honest, and tireless dedication to the defense of socio-economic, cultural, territorial, and human rights of black communities. Furthermore, the ACONC represents the legitimate organization of the black community councils in this region of Northern Cauca, historically oppressed due to the natural resources in their territories and its geopolitical relevance. In the current moment of “post-conflict" this situation has even worsened and becomes progressively virulent and lethal due to the interests related to  the huge extractivist capital which the region offers, armed actors of different ideologies, drug trafficking, etc. This attack on the leadership of ethnic community organizations representing Cauca is a direct attack on the reconstruction of coexistence and conviviality, on the fundamental respect for people's lives, on the protection of their communities, and the right to diversity. We call upon the State of Colombia to respect and guarantee the human right to life and physical integrity and the other fundamental human and political rights of leaders and social activists in their territories who are demanding the non-repetition of the armed conflict and the opportunity of a life in dignity and autonomy. Social leaders are the root of community survival, common welfare of communities (Buen Vivir), and democracy. In these ominous times in which the country is living – when the multiple sorts of violence against the communities and their leaders and the environmental devastation of the territories are accentuated –  the visions and proposals of the black and indigenous communities from the North of Cauca are a hope for peace and a light to transform to a socially fair society, in coexistence with nature. We vehemently express our solidarity with the affected activists, Francia Márquez, Clemencia Carabalí, Carlos Rosero, Víctor Moreno, Sofía Garzón and the wounded bodyguards.   Signatures:

Injustice with Hindus and Christians in Pakistan

On Wednesday 20th March 2019,  two teenage Hindu sisters were abducted by unknown men as the local Hindu community celebrated the festival of Holi. 14 year old Reena Kumari & 16 year old Raveena Kumari were abducted from the town of Daharki in Pakistan’s southern province of Sindh. Daherki Distt. The local Hindu population of the district took to the streets and blocked the local highway protesting the abduction. The girls family claimed that the that sisters had been abducted by people from the Kohbar and Malik tribes on the eve of Holi. Police refused to help Hindu persons protesting the abduction. Family approached the police to lodge a first information report (FIR) but all in vain. The incident took a strange turn after a video uploaded on social media appeared to show the girls converting to Islam. Their expressions clearly speaks how much they are afraid and oppressed by those religous fanatics. The sisters appear to be visibly distressed in the video and rights activists have claimed that this is another case of forced conversion and abduction, which are becoming increasingly common in the southern region of Sindh. It was not free will and the girls were in fact kidnapped and forcibly converted. It's so devasting to write about forced conversions of minor Hindu daughters of Pakistan. I often think how one can be so cruel and oppressive against people belong to other Religons OR school of thought. This is what happening with Religious minorities, this is how Pakistanis surprise minorities on their religious festives. It's my appeal to everyone who is against oppression and injustice, raise voices for these daughters of Pakistan and Save Humanity. Stop Forced Conversion

Help Restore Peace in Nicaragua

Nicaragua is in crisis. What initially began as peaceful protests has evolved into countrywide conflicts between unarmed civilians and government paramilitary forces. Sparked by constitutional changes to consolidate power and eliminate political competition along with some of the most rampant and widespread corruption in the region, the people finally had enough when Ortega let precious ecological sites burn down rather than accept help from neighboring countries and imposed controversial social security reforms. More than 100 people, including children, have died since anti-government protests began six weeks ago, several hundred have disappeared and over 1,000 have been injured. Private sector, civil society and activists have banned together to remain steadfast in their demands for justice and the restoration of democratic institutions. Violence has broken out throughout the country. The economy is now at a standstill. Local businesses are being forced to shut their doors and communities are being thrown into despair as tourism has ceased and violence reigns. As in times of civil unrest, women are bearing a disproportionate burden of violent threats. JOIN US in calling on international government leaders, members of the U.S. Congress and Senate, and multi-national corporate executives to raise their voices on behalf of the Nicaraguan people.
