Help stop Child marriage/ girl child rape in Northern Nigeria

ProblemThere is a growing menace in the northern region of Nigeria which have Islam as their main religion- paedophiles are taking advantage of the Islamic system to abuse young girls and take childbrides whom they have no plans for in future but to abuse them sexually. SolutionThe child act rights has been passed in 2003 by the federal legislation but few states have passed a bill to set the age of marriage. We are advocating that states in Northern region and other parts of Nigeria should set a minimum age not below the age of 18 for marriage and set rules and regulations for such, this will help to incorporate the rights of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights into the national law, Personal story A new twist has emerged as regards the story of Alhaji Chanji and it is alleged that the girl in question is actually 20years old and a dowry of N300,000 was agreed on. This however is the lady’s third marriage. We do apologize for whatever damage our initial story may have caused any individual.  While the story may have been a catalyst to bring about the push for this cause, it is not what the cause is about. We implore everyone to please focus on putting pressure on the state governments to adopt the child right act passed in 2003 by the federal legislature.   INITIAL STORY The story of a 70 years old Yakubu Changi marrying a 15year old girl in Niger state of Nigeria is trending on the internet. According to stories we have heard, Alhaji Changi as Yakubu is usually called has a penchant for marrying young girls and divorcing them after having his way sexually with them. This is against child rights everywhere and we must act now to ensure there is a change. https://ng.networkofnews.com/feed-items/rich-70yrs-old-alhaji-marries-15-year-old-nigerian-girl-photos-olufamous-com/

PLEASE SIGN TO HELP STOP THE GENOCIDE OF A MINORITY NATION IN SOUTH AFRICA!

#ProjectSurvivorSouthAfrica As much as we would hate to admit it – THE STAGE IS BEING SET FOR TOTAL GENOCIDE OF ALL WHITE SOUTH AFRICANS! Constantly looking over your shoulder; Never leaving your kids alone, not even for a second; Praying and pleading every night that God will accept you in Heaven should you not see the light of day again; Kissing and hugging your innocent children each and every night with tears in your eyes as if it were the last you will ever see them alive/unhurt; Constantly be on high alert; Checking that all doors and windows are locked and closed each and every night  before you go to sleep – checking them TWICE to make sure; Going to sleep imagining the horrors that could very easily AND QUICKLY  become reality; ---- IS NO WAY ANYONE SHOULD LIVE THEIR LIVES---- .....AND THAT IS THE WAY WE, AS A MINORITY IN SOUTH AFRICA, HAS BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO – UNACCEPTABLE – PLEASE HELP BY SIGNING, SHARING AND SHARING AGAIN! We request the following: 1.    That the international community and world leaders step in immediately to curb the damage already done and to also stop further annihilation of a peace loving nation from the face of the earth. The United States of America, Canada, Europe and the United Nations has always been on the forefront of curbing Human Rights violations. Why look the other way when a Genocide is taking place that will ultimately end in a slaughter that will make Rwanda look like a picnic? If you do not, you will be complicit to Genocide. 2.      That President Donald Trump (USA), Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Canada), President Donald Tusk (President of the European Council), President Jean-Claude Juncker (President of the European Commission), President Antonio Tajani (President of the European Parliament); President Miroslav Lajčák of Slovakia (United Nations General Assembly President), immediately take the necessary steps to initiate an emergency evacuation and immigration plan to USA, Canada and Europe and allowing white Boers/Afrikaners/South Africans refugee status. If you cannot, please, please at least admit our wives and little children and spare them the ongoing horror of murder, rape and torture. 3.      That the United States of America stop funding our oppressors.  Last year the U.S. Agency for International Development subsidised the South African Government with more than 350 million USD in aid. Please do not make the same mistake again! Rather use the money to subsidise an emergency evacuation and immigration plan allowing white Boers/Afrikaners/South Africans to go to the United States, it will be money well spent! ALTERNATIVELY utilise the funds to implement security measures to protect the white minority from total annihilation. 4.      That World Leaders immediately condemn the South African Government’s plans to Expropriate property without compensation as well as their total silence (and denial) in regards to  the ongoing Farm Murders. 5.       That World Leaders immediately condemn any and all Hate Speech against the minority whites by Government Officials, Julius Malema (EFF) and Andile Mngxitama.  6.        That the United States immediately fulfil its responsibility to act in terms of S.1158 - Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act of 2018. "This bill states that it is U.S. policy to regard the prevention of genocide and other atrocity crimes as a core national security interest and a core moral responsibility." (PLEASE BE WARNED THAT SOME SCENES AND/OR GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS OF FARM KILLINGS , RAPE AND TORTURE IN SOME OF THE INFORMATION, LINKS AND VIDEO MATERIAL MAY UPSET SENSITIVE VIEWERS) -Not only because of government politicians and their followers screaming and singing “One settler one bullet” or “Kill the Boer, Kill the farmer” or “Bring me my machine gun” etc.etc.etc. (For our international visitors - the words Settler, Farmer and Boer refers to minority White Afrikaans speaking South Africans). U.S. assistance focuses on improving healthcare, increasing education standards and teacher training, building capacity in agriculture to address regional food security, developing clean energy, and adapting to changing weather patterns. Improving the capacity of South Africa's security force will enable it to take a lead role in regional stability and security efforts. https://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/2898.htm U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) programs seek to strengthen small- and medium-sized enterprises, create employment, improve learning and job skills, promote basic education, combat gender-based violence, and promote HIV/AIDS care, prevention, and treatment."  https://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/2898.htm Sirs, you are neglecting your promise to South Africa! The population count in South Africa, according to the 2011 Census was, 79.2% of South Africans (41 million) were 'Black Africans', 8.9% were Coloured (4.62 million), 8.9% were white (4.59 million), 2.5% were 'Indian or Asian' (1.29 million) and only 0.2% (280.4 thousand) who declared another race. The population count in South Africa, according to Statistics South Africa in 2016 was: 80.7% of South Africans (45.1 million) were 'Black Africans' , 8.8% were Coloured (4.89 million), 8.1% were white (4.51 million), 2.5% were 'Indian or Asian' (1.38 million). More than 45.10 million blacks vs. not more than 4.51 million whites. (LET THAT SINK IN FOR A WHILE BEFORE CONTINUING!) Afrikaans speaking White South Africans "The Boers" are very strong and brave and will most definitely try to defend themselves, their wives and their children to the best of their ability with the means to their disposal BUT with such overwhelming odds stacked against them, the annihilation of a minority nation from the face of the earth will go down in history as one of the biggest and saddest blunders of the modern world! We request the following: 1.    That the international community and world leaders step in immediately to curb the damage already done and to also stop further annihilation of a peace loving nation from the face of the earth.

-Dr. Jane Goodall www.janegoodall.de

Get Aid to Armenia and Artsakh as Azerbaijan breaches our borders

Hi, my name is Sarine Zeitlian and I am an Armenian that was raised in NYC. As an Armenian, I am absolutely terrified and heartbroken about the current conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Starting on July 12th, the Azerbaijan military have breached the borders of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the Tavush region for the first time in over 18 months. They are using the COVID-19 pandemic to get away with what they’re doing. They are attempting to shell and attack several villages in the Tavush region including Chinari and Berd. They are planning to possibly start a bigger fight. I have a cousin who is currently in the middle of serving his 2 year draft in Artsakh and many of those soldiers are preparing to risk their lives to help defend our country. But it might not be enough without extra financial aid. This petition was created to get USAID (the section of the U.S. government that deals with foreign aid) to help the Armenians in Armenia and Artsakh out. It would help a lot if these civilians and soldiers were in a good financial state to make any sort of potential attack (or war) easier for the Armenians to endure.  Armenians need your help to send as much aid and help as we can to our brave Armenian soldiers and to the civilians of Armenia and Artsakh that have been the victims of Azeri aggression for far too long.  JUSTICE FOR THE ARMENIANS. ARTSAKH AND ARMENIA NEED JUSTICE.

Help us bring back abducted university students!

One of the factions of the Oromo Libration Front/OLF/ called OLF SHENE has kidnapped 17 Dembidolo University Students since the second week of December 2019. The students were taken from Dembidolo & hauled them away at gunpoint in the western Oromia region of Ethiopia. Of the 18 students abducted, one of them were escaped from her captors & told the local media that they had endured periods of hunger while with SHENE. The militants have repeatedly raped the girls(14 of them out of 17 were women) and beat all those who disagreed with them &/or refused to follow orders including but not limited to cooking & cleaning for insurgents among others. The government of Ethiopia, which eventually confirmed the abduction of students, has not yet started negotiating for the release of the 17 missing Dembidolo university students who are still being held captive. Nearly a month after they were abducted & dragged off to a forest hide-out; the abduction of the students sparked national outrage.   We are now in an emergency to bring back our young women and men. We are now signing an open letter calling for urgent action from the Government of Ethiopia towards the immediate release of the captive students and to apprehend the perpetrators. We are now calling to international human rights groups, government bodies and UN agencies to give the necessary attention to the students who are being dehumanized at the hands of the notorious Oromo militant group.  Thank you  Warmly,                                                                                                                         Kidus G.Mehalu A Deliver for Good Ambassador Global Good Will Ambassador

Justice for Snowhite and Sons

This petition would help African women who have been denied a right to their children because they were married to or cohabited with a person of power. This petition would put an end to bullying and oppression from political spouses who have the power and means to oppress and frustrate their partners out of the lives of their growing children who need the love and care of both parents. Precious Chikwendu, Miss United Nations 2014, cohabited with former minister of aviation of Nigeria, Femi Fani-Kayode who has a history of abusing women. She experienced severe mental and physical abuse for the period 6 years they were together. She was locked up in a mental home where she was injected with substances on the orders of Femi Fani-Kayode to enable him create a situation to take over her kids. Since Precious walked away on August 2nd 2020, she has not been allowed any form of access to her children. She has been harassed, detained and intimidated using the Police and cooked up allegations and charges have been levied against her with the Police as the prosecution. She has written several petitions to the Police which have been ignored and those of her ex-partner are being responded to immediately without any investigation. In December 2021, the former Minster disobeyed court orders to allow her access to her children. Several court suits to have access to her children through the Nigerian court system have been met with a road block as Precious still has no access to her kids who are all below the age of six. She has taken all legal steps as permitted by her country but the country has failed her as the former minister still walks around like a hero and free even with proofs of domestic violence, assault and battery. Precious is seeking justice and custody of her children. This bill will help her bring her problem before the International community. Help End Horrific Human Rights Violations Against Deaf People in Haiti

IF YOU WANT TO DONATE TO OFF-THE-GRID-MISSIONS, PLEASE GO TO WWW.OFFTHEGRIDMISSIONS.ORG ----------------------------------------------------- *TRIGGER WARNING* Extreme violence against people with disabilities.  Various types of severe abuse against women, children, and people with disabilities will be mentioned. Reader discretion is advised. Parental discretion is also strongly advised.  Content may not be appropriate for minors.  CLICK TO WATCH VIDEO Developed by Off-The-Grid Missions in partnership with the Deaf Community in Haiti. Yet another deaf woman in Haiti has been gang-raped, brutally tortured, had her organs extracted, and murdered.  Her mutilated dead body was left in the open until her own family could recover it.  The stigmatization of disability is prominent in the Haitian Creole culture, which isolates and abuses deaf people from the moment they are born. This leads to brutal “ritualistic savagery” frequently performed against deaf people. In Haiti, people with disabilities are believed to be “cursed”, and in the past four years, we have witnessed vicious murders of four deaf women who we personally knew through our organization’s work.  Deaf people in Haiti are not afforded basic human rights, and they continue to live within the confines of inhumane conditions while egregious crimes against humanity are ignored.  “Deaf people in Haiti are treated like animals. We are not even equal to other disabled people–because other disabled people still have the privilege of hearing and communicating verbally. Deaf people are isolated and used like slaves because society knows they can not speak up. They kill us because they believe we are cursed.”– Members of the Deaf Community in Haiti  Four months ago, Majorie Célestin (pictured left in the photo above), a deaf woman, walked after dark from her village to a banana plantation to collect food for her four starving children (11 months to 8 years old). She was raped by six men. Although she survived, on May 4th, 2021, she was attacked again at the same location. This time, “they destroyed her,” says the Deaf Community who went looking for her when she did not return home. They found her body at the shore, faced down, naked, and mutilated. She was bleeding from her anus, her heart had been removed, and her eyes were hanging out of their sockets. Calls for help from deaf people were ignored and Majorie’s body was left on the shore for days. There was no investigation and an autopsy was not performed. In fact, this murder has not been made public until now.  In the Spring of 2016, three deaf women named Jesula “Sophonie” Gelin, Vanessa Previl, and Monique Vincent (three women pictured second, third, and fourth to the left in the photo above) were forced to walk 20 miles home to their village after dark due to a bridge collapsing en route to their village. People throughout Haiti were aware of the bridge collapse because it was all over the news and they made other plans not to commute through this area. However, deaf people do not have this privilege because the information is not accessible to them. While on the way home, they went off-road in an attempt to stay at a family member’s house because it was not safe outside. They were invited into an adjacent cinder blockhouse. There, a group of both men and women viciously attacked them. They beat them, cut out their tongues, and threw their naked bodies into a ditch. Again, the Deaf Community recovered their bodies. Vanessa was approximately six months pregnant at the time of her murder. Micheler Castor, the husband of Sophonie, is also deaf and has been left to raise their six children. Unlike Majorie’s murder, this incident was publicized and hit international media outlets, most likely because of the number of women killed. Unfortunately, this has done nothing to combat the stigma associated with people with disabilities.  As a result, many deaf people were forced to abandon their homes and sleep with machetes at their side.  Motives that drive these incidents are suspected to be caused by superstitions. Some Haitians believe disabilities are contagious or caused by a curse. Some people who claim to foresee the future believe that if body parts like tongues from fresh corpses increase the chances of winning bets. “I believe they picked them to cut their tongues to play the lottery,” Castor says. These crimes against humanity are overlooked as well as the ongoing oppressive nature deaf people in Haiti are subjected to. Although there are legal protections for people with disabilities on paper, in reality, the laws are poorly implemented, if at all. In 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti resulted in an increased number of amputees. This contributed to increased awareness and increased number of accessible buildings, but the overall progress is limited to people with physical disabilities that do not involve hearing loss. In Haiti, Deaf people remain at the bottom of the hierarchy, below people with the said physical disabilities. This is because people with physical disabilities without hearing loss generally do not experience barriers when it comes to communicating verbally. The Deaf Community in Haiti stresses that “Hearing people with disabilities have more access to education than deaf people do, so we are exploited into forced labor from a young age, molested by family members, doing slave work and when we find ways to make money, we must give that money to our ‘owners.' Some deaf children are forced to sleep separately from their hearing family members: on the ground, outside, or on the roof. They do this knowing we won't be able to speak up. It is another reason why Haitian people, including those with disabilities that do not involve hearing loss, do not pay attention to the fact that deaf people continue to be brutally murdered; there is an overall absence of response, a significant lack of remorse.” Another indicator of the stigma associated with deaf people throughout Haiti is the common usage of the word, “bèbè”. This term, which is considered offensive and degrading by deaf Haitians, is often used to mock those who struggle with verbal speech. The term translates into stupidity, uselessness, and dependency. Deaf people are also commonly referred to as “muette” (mute) and "bèbè," instead of the proper term, “Sourd” (deaf). This stigma is so deeply rooted in Haitian society to the point deaf people do not receive basic human rights or support without humanitarian intervention. Because of the belief that people with disabilities are cursed, they are considered subhuman even by professionals who are charged with the responsibility of providing care to the public (e.g. healthcare providers, medical practitioners, etc.). Last month, when a deaf woman sustained a gunshot wound to her belly, it took 18 hours of our team pressuring doctors to finally agree to remove the bullet that ruptured her intestines. Following the procedure, the hospital staff neglected to properly care for her. As a result, our team had to demand her to be cared for properly. If our team was not there to fight for her basic human rights, she would have not received any medical response at all. When a deaf person is born in Haiti, families will often either hide their children inside their home or isolate them from society rather than sending them to school.  Alternatively, they may feel they have no other option but to send them to an institution that is run by an NGO, or farm them out as domestic servants, which often subjects them to horrific abuse. For deaf children, the only opportunities they may have are often made possible by initiatives run by NGOs. However, when deaf children reach a certain age, they are often forced to leave the institution, and as a result, have no way to continue their education by way of a college or employment. This is often because the schools (that are funded by public donations) need to accommodate the next generation of deaf children. The only options left for them are limited to working in factories, washing floors, carrying baskets and buckets of water long distances by foot, and/or selling their bodies. Most deaf people in Haiti earn less than $1.12 a day, which is below the extreme poverty line, according to the World Bank.   As an effort to combat this systemic oppression, our organization created a “Safe Haven” in Haiti where deaf women who want to further their education and work are provided with tools and technologies so they can safely earn a salary, have access to clean water, and receive a meal a day. We also monitor and respond to emergencies the best we can, which largely stem from the ongoing civil unrest. Deaf men and Children of Deaf Adults support these efforts as educators and by volunteering as Haitian Sign Language interpreters. Our work in Haiti is not possible without the hard work of our partners on the ground, whom for the sake of their safety, we have agreed not to disclose. Off-The-Grid Missions is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing life-saving resources to deaf and hard-of-hearing people around the world. We have been working with the Deaf community in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake and continue to witness and navigate horrific crimes against humanity that target the very individuals we work to support. Deaf people can not continue to fight against brutal crimes against humanity alone, which is why we are asking for your help. ________________________________________________________________ HOW YOU CAN HELP: • SIGN THIS PETITION• Share this petition • Donate to www.offthegridmissions.org By signing this petition you will be requesting* Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights: to condemn the HR violations and call the Haitian government to take action. Don't finance terrorism - put EMBARGO on turkish products

Don't finance terrorism - put EMBARGO on Turkish products. We appeal to the governments and the citizens of all the countries, who import goods from Turkey, especially to countries that maintain friendly ties with Armenia. On September 27 Azerbaijan launched missile attacks along the entire line of contact with Artsakh targeting also the peaceful settlements, including the capital Stepanakert. Nowadays Artsakh is under attack by the Turkish-Azerbaijani alliance and terrorists involved (BBC, The Guardian, Reuters, Forbes, Al Jazeera etc published details, proves and facts of this involvement and the direct connection with Turkey).  The Turkish military experts are fighting side by side with Azerbaijanis, who are using the Turkish weapons, including UAVs and warplanes. Meanwhile, Turkey provides full political and propaganda support to Azerbaijan at the highest level of its leadership. The military actions provoked by Azerbaijan with the support of Turkey are a gross violation of international law. Saudi Arabia has officially banned Turkish products. It is time for the world to follow its example. 51.9% of products exported from Turkey were bought by importers in Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, Iraq, United States, France, Spain, Netherlands, Israel, Russia, Romania, United Arab Emirates. Show that you care and want to stop terrorism. The world needs your support. Please, sign this petition.

Petitioning U.S. Department of State, USAID

Ask: Department of State and USAID, release a congressional report on the Girls Count Act!

Dear Administrator Green and Secretary Pompeo,  Safe spaces are critical for girls to thrive. One of the first steps to ensuring girls have access to safe spaces is birth registration. Even though most countries do have birth registration laws, approximately 25 percent of children under five have never been officially registered, according to UNICEF. When a girl is denied a birth certificate, she is invisible to her government. A lack of documentation can prevent a girl from going to school, getting a job later in life, and accessing health and social services. A lack of formal education often relegates girls to work in the informal sector, which can be an unsafe environment both physically and psychologically. In June 2015, the Girls Count Act was approved unanimously by Congress and subsequently signed into law by former President Barack Obama. The bill authorizes the Department of State and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to coordinate their efforts with multilateral organizations, the private sector, and civil society organizations to support the counting of girls in developing countries. Documentation is required to obtain property rights, social security, home ownership, land tenure security, inheritance rights, access to education, and economic and entrepreneurial opportunities. Though this bill has been passed by Congress, we will not know the impact of the law until a report has been released by the Department of State or USAID. Section 5 of the Girls Count Act sets forth the following requirement: “The Secretary and the Administrator shall include in relevant evaluations and reports to Congress the following information:                         (1) To the extent practicable, a breakdown of United States foreign assistance beneficiaries by age, gender, marital status, location, and school enrollment status.                 (2) A description, as appropriate, of how United States foreign assistance benefits girls.         (3) Specific information, as appropriate, on programs that address the particular needs of girls.” If you agree that the Department of State and USAID should prioritize a report to Congress on the impact of foreign aid on women and girls, please sign this petition and share it with everyone you know. The longer this report is delayed, the longer women and girls will be unable to benefit from formal economic, legal, and political sectors in their countries--rights that originate with registration at birth.
