Nathaniel Willis "Tan" Parker IV is a prominent American businessman and Republican politician currently serving as the Texas State Senator for District 12 since 2023. Previously, Parker represented District 63 in the Texas House of Representatives from 2007 to 2023. In 2018, he initially sought the position of Texas House Speaker but withdrew to support Dennis Bonnen. Parker is the founder of Applied Business Strategies and has served as Chair of the Texas Industrial Development Corporation. He is also on the Board of Directors at the University of Dallas. Academically, he holds a Master's degree from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Dallas. Parker's career reflects a deep commitment to public service and business development within Texas.
