Cummings has served in various prosecutorial roles, including as a County Deputy Prosecutor in Marion, Hamilton, and Delaware Counties. He has also been a Prosecuting Attorney and County Attorney in Madison County, where he has played a significant role in the local legal system. In addition to his prosecutorial duties, Cummings has contributed to the legal community as a faculty member at the National Advocacy Center. His early career included serving as a police officer in the City of Anderson, further enhancing his understanding of the criminal justice system.
