Joyce Lucille Davis Waddell is an American politician and a dedicated member of the Democratic Party. She has served as a North Carolina State Senator representing the 40th district since 2015. Waddell boasts an impressive academic background, having earned a Bachelor's degree from South Carolina State University, and multiple Master's degrees from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, North Carolina A&T State University, and Appalachian State University. She further attained a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
