Jim Jordan, born James Daniel Jordan, is an American politician and lawyer who has served as the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 4th congressional district since 2007. A member of the Republican Party, Jordan has been an influential figure in the House, known for his conservative stance and active role in legislative debates. Prior to his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, he was an Ohio State Representative from 1995 to 2000, and subsequently served in the Ohio State Senate from 2001 to 2006. An accomplished academic, Jordan earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master's in Education from Ohio State University, and a Juris Doctor from Capital University.
