Jerrold Lewis Nadler, born in 1947, is a seasoned American politician and lawyer, representing New York's 12th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2023. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Nadler has been a congressional representative since 1992, initially serving New York's 17th district, which later became the 8th, 10th, and now the 12th district. As the dean of New York's U.S. House delegation, he has had a significant impact on national legislation. Nadler chaired the House Judiciary Committee from 2019 to 2023, a role in which he gained prominence for his oversight responsibilities. Prior to his congressional career, he served as a New York State Assemblyman from 1977 to 1992, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to public service.
