Dwight Evans is an American former professional baseball right fielder known for his impressive career in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played predominantly with the Boston Red Sox from 1972 to 1990 and briefly with the Baltimore Orioles in 1991. A distinguished athlete, Evans was a three-time All-Star and earned eight Gold Glove Awards as well as two Silver Slugger Awards. Notably, he played the second-most career games for the Red Sox, following only Carl Yastrzemski. Apart from his sports career, Evans pursued academics, earning a Bachelor's degree from Community College of Philadelphia and LaSalle. He has also served as a teacher in the Philadelphia School District and held political roles, including State Representative at the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives and Representative for District 3 in the U.S. House of Representatives.
