Deutsche Bundesregierung

The Deutsche Bundesregierung, or the Federal Government of Germany, is the national executive branch of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its powers derive from the Federal Constitution, known as the Grundgesetz. It is composed of the Federal Chancellor— who serves as the head of government— and the Cabinet Ministers, who make decisions on policy matters. The government’s functionality is based on parliamentary principles, which means its legitimacy and authority originate from the confidence of the Bundestag, the German federal legislative body. Throughout the years, the government has played an important role in shaping the socio-economic aspects of the nation.
