The Cámara de Senadores de la Nación, or the Senate of the Nation, is one of two houses that make up the Argentine National Congress - the legislative branch of the government in Argentina. Each of Argentina's twenty-three provinces, as well as the autonomous city of Buenos Aires, is represented by three senators. These members are elected to six-year terms through an indirect election process, as established in the Argentine Constitution. The Senate's responsibilities include the introduction and passage of legislation, approval of governmental appointments, and approval of international treaties, among other duties.
