Camera dei deputati

The Camera dei Deputati, also known as the Chamber of Deputies, is one of the two houses that make up the Italian parliament, the other being the Senate of the Republic. Its members, known as deputies, are elected by universal suffrage every five years, with a total of 630 seats distributed on a national basis. The main functions of the Camera dei Deputati include the approval of bills and the exercise of control functions on the Government's action through the question time and the committees. The President of the Chamber of Deputies conducts its proceedings and represents it in its institutional relations.
