Bruno Covas was a Brazilian lawyer and politician who served as the mayor of São Paulo from 2018 until his passing in 2021. Member of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB), he graduated with a Law degree from the University of São Paulo and held a post-graduate degree in Economics from PUC. His political career was marked by various roles including being State Deputy, Federal Deputy, and State Secretary. As mayor, he implemented several important policies related to education, health, housing, urban management, and climate change. However, his tenure was notably marked by his dedicated fight against cancer which eventually took his life. He is remembered for his public service and commitment to improving the city.
