Robert Edward Latta is an American politician and lawyer serving as the United States Representative for Ohio's 5th congressional district since 2007. A member of the Republican Party, Latta represents a district that includes many of Toledo's suburbs, as well as cities like Findlay, Bowling Green, Napoleon, Sylvania, Defiance, and Van Wert, along with a portion of Toledo itself. Prior to his tenure in Congress, Latta was an Ohio State Representative from 2001 to 2007, served as a County Commissioner for Wood County from 1991 to 1996, and was a State Senator in Ohio from 1997 to 2000. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo.
