Amanda Foreman is an accomplished British/American biographer and historian, known for her exceptional research skills and compelling narrative style. Her inaugural biography, "Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire", was a critical and commercial success that recounts the life of the 18th-century European aristocrat, bagging the prestigious Whitbread Prize for Biography. Beyond her writing exploits, Foreman hosted the BBC documentary series "The Ascent of Woman". Educated at Sarah Lawrence College, Columbia University, and Oxford University, Foreman serves as a trustee of the National Portrait Gallery in London and fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
