Dear Live Nation: Change BONNAROO's infrastructure, NOT the date!

The Issue

I've been attending Bonnaroo every year since 2014, and in that time, this festival has become more than just an event to me – it's a family reunion. Each year, friends, old and new, come together, forming connections that last a lifetime. This unique gathering allows us to reconnect, share our love for music and art, and celebrate our community.

Bonnaroo has traditionally been held at the same time each year. The late spring timing has allowed for nearly perfect weather conditions, aside from a few accelerated moments in 2023 and this year. However, as the festival's attendance grows, it has become increasingly clear that the current infrastructure is no longer sufficient to handle the full capacity safely and comfortably..... something a majority of Bonnaroovians are well aware of.

Instead of moving the festival date – a change that could disrupt the traditions we've built as well as clash with many other festivals, school schedules and events – we propose improving the event's infrastructure... BUT KEEP THE DATE THE SAME!

Practical adjustments, such as paving more roads for emergency access, enhancing drainage systems, leveling low-lying areas, and reassessing camping locations (just say NO to some of those low spots and spread out elsewhere), could significantly enhance safety and adaptability, ensuring we can all enjoy Bonnaroo irrespective of the weather.

We come here for rain or shine, from near and really, really, really far away, by bike, by bus, by planes, trains, and automobiles because we love it and need it.  We know risks, have been around for the occasional shower and danced in the rainbows following them. We've also come prepared (extra prepared this year!), knowing full-well Tennessee weather might throw us a few extra moist curve balls. BUT... knowing all this as well as being told about the many "improvements" which allayed our fears that the weather would hold us back (SIDE NOTE: improvements = raised porta pottys, over-jammed infinity stage -- QUESTION MARK!?)... our comments about missing out on our traditional schwag (bandanas) fell short when basic weather forced us out of our home.. ALL DUE to the base of the problem: the lack of updated infrastructure following with a lack of an emergency plan that suited the farm in it's current state.

Bonnaroo is more than an event; it’s a beacon of community, friendship, inclusion, passion, collaboration music + art. TO PRESERVE THE SPIRIT OF BONNAROO for future generations, LIVE NATION SHOULD PRIORITIZE these NECESSARY (and standard-ish) INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS for an event of this scope. Let’s work towards a better and more secure festival experience, ensuring that the rain will never dampen our spirit or our fun.

Let's HIGH FIVE Live Nation into taking these actionable steps towards improving Bonnaroo’s infrastructure so that this unique + magical festival can continue to thrive during its TRADITIONAL TIME OF THE YEAR! Please sign this petition to make our way-of-life heard so that we can make it back to the farm to rejoice in each other's presence as we've always done...shine OR RAIN! <3
