Lower the Age Requirement for Cervical Smear Testing

Lower the Age Requirement for Cervical Smear Testing
The Issue
My daughter was only 22 when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. It spread to her lungs and is now stage four terminal cancer. This devastating experience has motivated me to advocate for a change in policy regarding the age requirement for cervical smear testing. Currently, the age requirement is set at 25 years old, which can be too late for many young women like my daughter. According to Cancer Research UK, around 2,900 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer in the UK each year and it's the most common cancer in women under 35 (source: Cancer Research UK). By lowering the age requirement for smear tests, we could potentially detect this disease earlier and save countless lives. Please sign this petition to urge health authorities to lower the age requirement for cervical smear testing.
