The Issue

Why this matters to me

I’ve stood in crowds with no clear exits, jam-packed pathways, and medical teams left scrambling. Music should unite us, not endanger us.

Track Record of Safety Issues:

  • Bonnaroo 2025: no visible evacuation plan paired with inadequate guidance from organizers on how to safely exit
  • Stray Kids at Nationals Park (DC): organizers delayed entry, forcing fans to wait in heat with no shade. Inside, conditions didn’t improve, with limited water refill stations, understaffed medical teams, and unprepared event staff.
  • EDC Las Vegas 2025: severe overcrowding trapped people at Basspod and many other pockets throughout the festival; ADA platforms were poorly signed, hard to locate, understaffed, and inaccessible in dense crowds.
  • EDC Orlando 2024: dangerous overcrowding with dismissive response from organizers after the event; organizers only plan to expand footprint which doesn’t fix poor layouts or a lack of active crowd control measures; fears it’ll repeat this year.
  • EDC Las Vegas 2023: dangerous overcrowding led to bottleneck crowds at stage entrances and exits; organizers provided no response after numerous calls for change.
  • Nocturnal Wonderland - San Bernardino, CA 2022-2024: insufficient onsite medical staff cited after a fatal drug overdose; dangerous crowd bottlenecks and blocked pathways during peak performances; organizers cited for  limited evacuation instructions and no safe shelter options after a last minute cancellation due to wildfire.
  • Lovers and Friends 2022: organizers had no clear evacuation plan after a false “active shooter” rumor; crowd panic from a lack of communication from the organizers caused a stampede with several hospitalized
  • Astroworld 2021: worldwide recognition after Netflix documentary

What We’re Asking For:

  1. Hire independent crowd safety experts
Every layout should be reviewed before gates open by professionals trained in crowd flow, emergency planning, and risk prevention.
  2. Publish detailed evacuation plans for all weather scenarios
Plans for flooding, lightning, and extreme heat should be shared before the event, both online and on-site, with maps, signage, and instructions attendees can actually follow.
  3. Establish real-time safety infrastructure
Use crowd density monitoring tools (AI or staff), set up a public-facing safety hotline, and designate a centralized on-site command center with full authority to delay or cancel performances for safety reasons.
  4. Guarantee safe exits and simulate crowd flow
Require clearly marked, unobstructed exit routes with staff to guide attendees, plus crowd flow testing during setup to fix bottlenecks before anyone’s at risk.
  5. Ensure independent ADA oversight and access enforcement
All events must include at least one trained ADA compliance officer on-site to enforce accessible paths, platforms, and clearly marked and publically shared evacuation access throughout the weekend. Every ADA platform must have dedicated staff throughout the duration of the event to ensure access both to and from designated areas.

Live Nation and Insomniac have the resources, now they need the will. Sign below to demand real, transparent safety measures at every show they run.
