Eradicate Gendered Uniform Policies in Sport To Stop the Sexualisation of Young Girls
The issue
#BantheBikini is a community of strong, courageous and ambitious women advocating for the rights of female athletes in the sporting industry.
The social movement focuses solely on amending outdated and gendered uniform policies and empowering female athletes to take control of their sporting uniforms.
Female athletes experience routine humiliation and degradation because of their physical appearances and emotions of self-consciousness due to wearing body-bearing uniforms.
In an attempt to address these concerns, alongside the disparities between the ways sporting federations sexualise women in contrast to men, #BantheBikini aims to provide female athletes with the choice to select the style of their uniforms.
