The Issue
Hello, I’m Joan Starwind, I’m twenty years old and I’m a professional musician who believes a song can start a revolution.
Ever since i first picked up a guitar, I’ve always had this feeling that Music could connect time, like past and present could shake hands through a song.
I’m writing this because I have a dream, the kind that makes people tilt their heads and say, “Wait, seriously?”
Yes. Seriously.
And my lifelong dream is to have a chance to play music with the best drummer in the world: Ringo Starr.
I’ve lived most of my life inside The Beatles’ songs and they’ve been guiding me since the very beginning, and Ringo’s timeless drumming is what taught me that rhythm is something you feel inside your soul.
Now, as I work towards recording my new EP’s as well as my debut LP, I can’t help but wonder… what if the people who lit the fire in me could actually hear what I created with it?
As an independent artist, I write, I compose, I play every instrument that can be heard in my Music, I sing every word, I mix and master, I manage and advertise. And I do it because I believe in it. There’s just my and my instruments’ power behind me; and a dream big enough to let strangers believe.
All I’m asking through this petition is a chance to get to play with Ringo Starr. Whether it’s in a studio, on a stage, or in some small, quiet room with a kit… I just want to make Music with someone who contributed in making me believe in Music in the first place.
