BC Lower Mainland Vibrations

The Issue

Authorities must investigate and stop the persistent tactile and audible low frequency vibrations still being reported by multiple residents across cities in and around British Columbia’s Lower Mainland.

These vibrations have continued day and night for months or years for people, resonating through buildings and shaking residents’ bodies and homes. They sound like an idling engine and are not mitigated by earplugs or headphones. Residents consistently report that the issue peaks around 3:00 a.m. and remains disruptive throughout the day.

Accounts across the region cite sleep deprivation, raised blood pressure, loss of appetite, dizziness, concentration problems, and a crawling sensation throughout the body. Many residents have also temporarily left the Lower Mainland just for some respite from the issue. Some note the issue disappears only when the power is out.

This ongoing assault on residents’ health and safety is unacceptable. Authorities must launch an independent, transparent investigation to identify the source, compel an immediate remedy, and be held accountable for timely results. Failure to act will leave affected residents with all available legal remedies, including collective civil action.

If you’ve experienced this issue, currently or in the past, take action:

1)      Sign the petition!

2)      Report details (what, where, when, effects) to:
•    BC Minister of Health: HLTH.Minister@gov.bc.ca
•    BC Minister of Energy & Climate Solutions: ECS.Minister@gov.bc.ca

3)      Report same details to a journalist who's shown interest:
•    Zach Orobko (CBC): zach.orobko@cbc.ca

4)      Contact one resident who believes the cause is stray current from BC Hydro infrastructure:
•    Nicolas Marriott: nicolasjmarriott@gmail.com

Note: Apparently, a BC Hydro engineer connected to the case is currently under review by Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia for obscuring the nature of the issue. Nicolas has compiled extensive evidence of documented attempts by officials to conceal the matter, and is open to being contacted.  The paper trail is unsettling. Time may be limited due to recent legal changes that could affect investigations: https://www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/article/bcs-bill-9-among-rash-of-canadian-legislative-changes-diluting-rights-advocate-says

The likelihood of resolving this across the region hinges on how many people raise their voices and what a Freedom of Information request can still achieve in post-Bill 9 British Columbia. Nicolas’ work would benefit greatly from your feedback.

5)      Review the regional reports map (best viewed on desktop):
https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1_qqMqnjRgo9EXrMsAJrs1L5UMyVQSsE

Note: Many reports cluster near substations, high-voltage lines, conductive railways, and high-draw industrial sites.
