Wrongful convictions are a pressing issue globally, highlighting flaws in the justice system and the need for reform. Recent cases and DNA evidence advancements have shed light on innocent individuals serving time for crimes they did not commit. Petitions under this topic focus on advocating for fair trials, proper legal representation, and compensation for those wrongfully imprisoned.
Notable petitions have gained traction, such as one calling for the establishment of innocence commissions to review cases of potential wrongful convictions. Another petition with thousands of signatures demands reforms to prevent coerced confessions and false testimony in court.
Join the movement to exonerate the innocent and push for systemic changes in the legal system. Your support can help prevent future miscarriages of justice and bring justice to those who have been wronged.
Some many innocent people are serving time for a crime they didn't commit including my husband Richard McKenzie. I feel like every case should be reviewed for someone who's been claiming his innocent from day one
As someone who was charged, prosecuted, and convicted of what was done to him by a person whom is a donor to the k9 unit of the county he was assaulted in, I understand how painful, stressful and outright depressing this situation is. When corrupt police, such as B.W. and R.S., and the entire county they work for can lie, falsify evidence, and plausibly deniable coerce you into becoming a "criminal", something has got to change. An entire county, a county who has a history of hiding the molestation of children by its own employees, does everything in their power to keep children away from their mothers, good mothers who have or had at the time full physical and legal custody, is frightening. When a court admin tells you your public d is not in the building and to wait for the investigator and your "new public defender", and then your public d steps out of the bathroom, its frightening. When your public d prosecutes you, sends you court times that are late, and lies about you and your codefendant, its frightening. When your P.O., the "neutral" party, writes your email address down wrong, but says it correctly, its frightening. This is a cause worth fighting, and I am glad to add my name to this petition. Justice for Cortez. Justice for K.E. Justice for B.B. Justice for B.S. Justice for B.T. Bring K.D., C.B., D.B., E.R., D.W., B.W., R.S., J.W., K.L., C.L, and any other dirty official of Clearwater County MN, to account. This aggression cannot stand, man.
I have watched this young man grow up. Never an issue with him in school or on the football field at Belfry. Please consider the circumstance of the fight and put yourself in his shoes regarding someone saying such terrible things about his family. I think most men would stand up for their family. He may be young but he has took on the role of fatherhood and has been a wonderful involved father. Please don’t take that away from him.
I don’t know this young man but I do know the Mingo county court system all to well… you won’t just ruin his life over him defending his children and their mother. Whoever he fought knew exactly what that word meant and exactly how much hate and violence is packed into such a small word. I think it’s insane he’s facing charges at all over a fight and that much time. I’ve watched the same actual crappy people get out of charge after charger after charge we’re was the sense of Justice there. You guys better buckle up and do right cause we ain’t letting this go!
I haven’t known Seth very long but in the short time I have known him he has always proved to be an outstanding person. He would give someone the shirt off his back without a second thought. He’s always been quiet but never rude. Seth is a respectable young adult and does not deserve years of his life to be taken from him over one mistake. We all have made mistakes in our life and have been given a second chance, he deserves a second chance. Thank you
I have watched Seth grow up since he and my boy were in grade school together. I’ve never known of anything bad to come from him. He is now a grown man, a good dad and husband, and he has a family that needs him. I would ask those making these decisions, have you never let your emotions get the best of you and cause you to make regrettable decisions? Please consider the circumstances of someone that is good having a moment of weakness and poor judgement, driven by duress.
Prayers for Seth and his family that God intervenes and shows him favor . In this community we support and help our own . Now do I believe people shouldn’t answer for their wrong doings ? No ! I know there are consequences for our actions but we’ve all done things we’re not proud of and moments that things spiral out of control and we handle them maybe in a not so appropriate way . With that being said I believe the verdict that was handed down in this case is way off and something needs to be done to help Seth. He deserves mercy just like we all do each and everyday . His little family needs him and I can think of a lot of people in the system that has been repeat offenders that have done a lot worse things than him and they walk away with slaps on the wrist or even pats on the back time and time again. So please support Seth and his family by being there and praying God turns this around for him .
Have known Seth since high school. He has always been a wonderful guy, I’ve never heard a bad word about him. Everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance! He’s a present father and husband and I feel it’s important that his children/wife get to have him home.
Seth is a good man and father with so much potential. He made a mistake and let his emotions get the best of him just like so many of us are guilty of. I know he feels horrible for what he has done because Seth is the type of person who is known to have so much sympathy, and because of this I know he has learned from his error and bad judgment. God has showed so much mercy on me for the times when I have let my emotions get the best of me, and I hope that those of you part of his trial may grant mercy to him as well. I ask that you don’t only keep in mind of this young man’s future which is also on trial, but also keep in mind of his beautiful wife and children who need their father.
