I have struggled with this my entire adult life. It makes it difficult to exercise when I want to so badly. I’m afraid eventually I won’t have strength to walk. Please help!
I wish I'd known about this when I was diagnosed with stage 0 DCIS in 2019. Maybe I could have avoided a unilateral mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, radiation, infections, hyperbaric chamber visits due to tissue's inability to heal, which finally led to a DIEP flap and multiple reconstructions. I was lucky compared to many but still drained 2 years of my life.
Cancer treatments should be about finding the best solution for the patient, not lining the pockets of big pharma and the healthcare system.
My mom had breast cancer a while ago, and though it went relatively really well from what I'm aware(I don't think she had to be operated on multiple times), I can still see the scar on the left side of her chest when she's wearing a low-necked top, like she often does, and I sit across from her at the dinner table. I may not have much experience with this, but that doesn't stop me from caring about other people, and about my future as someone with breasts. This can help prevent so much suffering, if you let it.
