Dear #ToxicFreeHair community!
It's been a while, but I'm reaching out about something important that relates to my campaign. Please join me in supporting Women's Voices for the Earth (WVE)'s National Day of Action tomorrow, June 11 at 11:00am Pacific Time! This is a virtual rally with leading experts to call on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ban formaldehyde in hair straightening products once and for all.
As part of WVE's Beautiful Hair Without the Scare campaign, this National Day of Action takes place just 30 days before the FDA’s response deadline to their proposed rule to ban formaldehyde in hair straightening products, and we are invited to turn up the pressure. Attendees will learn about the harmful impacts of formaldehyde exposure and receive tools to help them take live, collective action by contacting the FDA.
Together, we are building healthier communities and equitable futures by holding our federal government accountable. Join WVE by registering here!
Are you a salon worker or someone who has been affected by formaldehyde exposure? WVE would love to hear from you!
The FDA must understand just how harmful formaldehyde is to the health of our communities. By sharing your written story, you can help salon workers and consumers across the country make informed decisions about the health and safety of themselves, their colleagues, and their clients.
Click the link here to share your story today—and pass this along to salon workers and everyday beauty consumers who have a story to tell.
