It’s time we treat all people from all walks of life with respect. Anderson was left by GM back in the day and again for years their people are here to suffer with poisoned water. It’s time Americans in all towns demand answers and receive the support they need. This is all over our country. Time to put our feet down people.
We must Demand Action for Water Pollution in Indiana. For far too long this state has been a dumping ground for petrochemicals and toxins. Indiana has the most polluted water ways in the US and as a result also have some of the worst Air Quality. Also Ohio is the worst in Air Quality in the US mostly because Indiana’s water ways are so bad they carry the wind across the state to Ohio. I’m tired of living in pollution and having to drive 3 hours just for some clean water recreation. As someone who is from just outside of Flint Michigan. Water Pollution has severely affected my life and I pray one day my child can have clean water ways in Indiana. We should be able to have fun in the water without fear of being poisoned.
I live in the area affected, and I can tell you that the entire time I’ve lived here the water has smelled like chemicals. The water leaves a residue on EVERYTHING. We would never drink this water, I have two babies and it is scary to think nobody is going to do anything to fix this biohazard
Not only is this an ecological hazard but this operation is preventing citizens of this county from being able to have their own chicken houses as this labor will be farmed out to people from overseas while the main builder of this conglomerate will get all the up front money incentives to have new houses built and average citizens will suffer because of this injustice. I myself have stake in the game and am absolutely positive if this is allowed the consequences will be long lasting and innumerable.
Protect the Satilla, reject the chicken plant! My family owns property along the Satilla and we try to be good stewards of it. We are strongly opposed to this source of pollution.
Our daughter’s skin has become super dry. I am someone who has struggled with oily skin my whole life and now I have dry and irritated skin. Anytime I wash my clothes or towels on hot, they get bleached. I also live near the water treatment plant in Quail Run and we smell the chlorine often. When we go on a walk in the neighborhood it smells like you’re at a swimming pool. This is the same smell anytime you turn on your washing machine, or run a bath. Our neighbors had to have plumbing work done due to damage caused by the excess chlorine in the water and who knows when we will be next. We can’t afford a whole home filtration system. This water crisis is terrible and needs to be solved.
We recently moved here and our dog continues to get sick but did not have issues before. Skin and eye dryness causing irritation and blurriness has worsened which weren’t concerns until recent.
Please keep Alimagnet Park as it has been. Although I support recreation and people being involved in outdoor sporting activities, there are better locations to host a pickleball venue that wouldn’t negatively impact a valuable natural environment. Keep Alimagnet Park undisturbed from additional noise, light and pollution and allow it to serve the community in its current state for all to enjoy.
I’ve spent my childhood on this lake and have watched firsthand what the mismanagement of this watershed has done to the local biota. “Like winds and sunsets, wild things were taken for granted. Now we must ask ourselves whether a ‘higher standard of living’ is worth its cost in things natural, wild, and free.”- Aldo Leopold, A Sand County Almanac
This is our closest and most peaceful beach. It holds many memories. We appreciate the small lake to go boating and it's pristine area. It would be very impactful and an abomination to have this piece of the north country altered.
