If my detective would’ve been more trauma informed there’s a chance I could’ve gotten justice
JoDee supported: Introduction of Trauma-Informed Juries For Sexual Violence and Domestic Abuse Trials
I have worked with abuse for over 40 years with young people through various settings. Safeguarding has been around for as long as I have worked, it is just that the church actively chose to not follow safeguarding. To remove the independent safeguarding team shows a lack of understanding and a powerful group of males who show an active acceptance of abuse of children.
Heather supported: RESIGNATION of STEPHEN COTTRELL, Archbishop of York
Religion is not operating in isolation amongst us all and if the Archbishops are continually failing those within its own boundaries then what does it say about inviting people in with young children and expecting them all to feel safe and secure. The Church of England needs more women as bishops and much more modern thought about the vast issue of sexual abuse and those who use their powerful positions to prey upon us rather than pray amongst us all
Geraldine supported: RESIGNATION of STEPHEN COTTRELL, Archbishop of York
My late father born 1925 told me to keep my young son ‘away from the parsons and the vicars’ . I didn’t know what he meant but realise now that these kinds of abuses, whilst they have happened in so many institutions must have been rumoured and known about for so many years. The conspiracy of silence is, thank goodness over: the clised doors are being broken down and those who kept silent for whatever reason - and it is a complete abhorrence as to why they have done - are in these times being held to account, exposed and rejected. Thanks and praise to the Bishop of Newcastle: a brave, admirable woman.
