The system handed me back a lost and broken husband. Not the man that went in to help serve his country. The higher up lied, falsified documents which we had to fight and nothing happened to them for lying. The whole thing is a big joke. We live with this everyday

I have had my claim for my PTSD back neck and shoulder pain since 2023 with no sign of resolving the claim despite having an advocate. In the military we dealt with deadlines crucial to operational effectiveness but DVA sit at a desk and have no clue what it’s like to serve your country and deal with critical incidents that are life or death or pack up and deploy at a moment’s notice

Because service men and women are there when we need them, the least the system and community could do is be there for them when they need help.

My ex-husband was a 30 year naval veteran. He died by suicide 9 years ago, not long after our youngest child had signed up. I'm glad he has since left the navy and hope he can get support when or if he needs it.

My brother returned a broken soldier TWICE! DVA made him feel like utter crap and trying to navigate that whole system added to his PTSD and mental demons. I lost my beautiful big brother suddenly on 6th May 2021. Forever 54! DVA need an absolute overhaul! ESORT is so out of touch it should just be shut down! STOP looking after your own back pockets and start looking after our Veterans! Regardless of the Royal Commission there is still suicides happening all over our country. Minister Keogh you are no better than your predecessors and I bet NONE of you have ever served a day in our Military!! Here is a song I wrote in honour of my brother and all of our returned service men and women who ended their lives because our country let them down and forgot about them! It’s called Another Veteran That’s Broken and thanks once again to the families who shared photos of their dearly loved and missed Veterans who they lost to suicide as they all come home broken. 💔💔💔 https://youtu.be/IxbhPErdN-w

As a Veteran who was a witness at the Royal Commission and has PTSD I try to avoid DVA as much as possible as they are a huge part of my trauma. As far as I am concerned there’s no one I can really turn to if I need to. I have twice tried to be included in DVA’s yearly form for female Veterans and have both times been turned down. These organisations don’t like those who criticize them or their policies. To me the Defence Force and DVA will always be just a big boys club.

Myself and a veterans advocate (who is a veteran himself) deal with DVA on a daily basis and their lack of empathy towards veterans, and their families is disgraceful. The whole system needs to be changed, so veterans don’t bother with their DVA white/gold cards nor their entitlements as it’s too hard to navigate with out help.

Myself and my children have been made homeless twice in the last 9 years due to the section 21 no fault eviction. The first time the council refused to help as we were in £850 rent arrears, due to housing benefit taking so long to sort. We were left on the streets. Social services said I was a good mum amd couldn't help, even tho I have children with additional needs. We then spent the next 9 months going from family member to family member, until I was able to save enough for a deposit and find a landlord who would accept diss. To again 6 years later be served with yet another section 21. I know habe 3 children with additional needs. We were placed miles away in emergency shared temporary accommodation. The impact om our mental health was extreme and my children could only go to school 3 days a week due to the cost of getting them there and back. We are now on another temporary accommodation and have no idea if or when we will be moved. We are 6.9 miles away from youngest 2 childrens school. I am unable to change their school due to their needs. A section 21 no fault eviction causes so much stress, mental health issues, or makes them worse. Me children deserve a home they don't habe to worry about leaving when the landlord decides they don't want you there for absolutely no reason. Or they kick you out do the repairs on the property amd raise the rent! Where is the justice in that? I had my youngest son fall from the top of the stairs in my first property I was served a section 21, as the banister was too lose to keep tje baby gate up. He ended up with bruises including a black eye. I wasn't able to pay for court and could apply for enough through legal aid. I live in constant fear we will be evicted again no matter what I do. Even if my rent is upto date, it doesn't mean a thing. As soon as your landlord doesn't want you or wants more money you are out. Gone are the days you can rent a home and raise a family amd watch your children grow. Ive not jad a staple home since I was 12. I jad hoped for better for my children. The sad truth is they will probably never know what it feels like to have a safe stable place to live.

The fact that this is still happening shows how much change is needed. This behavior is being accepted and allowed by those in charge. It is not equal opportunities when women are being forced to either risk going through unfair treatment and getting assaulted and r*ped, or just not apply for the job they want to do. These men get trained and disciplined and yet they still can't get their heads around the word NO.

Most people who buy fireworks do it for some kind of stupid thrill and mess around with them buy lighting them and throwing them in the air. Just because someone is of legal age to purchase them, it doesn’t mean that they won’t be stupid and irresponsible. It can cause fires when not used appropriately, I’ve seen this myself. I also know from the news that some sick people attach animals to rockets. They should only be available at certain times of the year and by licensed people only. All animals are affected by them in some way, especially wildlife.
