Stephen Colbert has been the voice of reason for me in the midst of these fraught political times. I watch him every night to keep abreast of the news of the day. He delivers the headlines in a way that not only informs, but comforts. Colbert's turn of phrase and sense of humor has helped me to keep a positive outlook since I started watching during the 2016 election season (I voted for the first time in 2024, and his coverage helped me to process the aftershock). If CBS takes away this vital television program, where are viewers like me supposed to find some respite, some relief from the bleak world we're living in? To CBS, I advise you listen to your audience. You're making a massive mistake. To Mr. Colbert - Thank you for your warmth, wit, and wisdom. Continue to shine in spite of those trying to dim your light ...
I have occasionally watched this show, and know many people who really love it. I don't always personally agree with everything on it, but that's why I feel it is so important to keep this show going. I am a conservative-leaning independent. I understand and support free speech, including news and shows that contain diverse content that may or may not align with my views. Everyone deserves to have a voice, regardless if we agree or disagree with what that voice says. Please CBS, keep this show for the people who love it, and for the diversity it lends to the various voices out there!
My husband just passed away recently but would have been devasted to hear this news. Every night at 11:30 we would turn on Colbert and have some great laughs. Stephen Colbert helped us get thru the night and ready for the next day. Don't let this voice of truth and laughter also die. CBS - you made a huge mistake.
